5 Games To Get Hyped For
Everyone has their top 5 lists, and I’m no exception! I wanted to take a look at 5 upcoming games I’m hyped to get my hands on and sink countless hours into, and along the way maybe you might pick up a suggestion or 2 for yourself to play. Let’s get going!
An indie roleplaying game and spin off of the popular horror series Five Nights at Freddy’s. The game was developed for Windows and Android systems. In this game you control a four member party of the various characters of FNAF, Freddy, Bonnie, Mangle, Chika, ETC. The game has 2 modes and multiple endings, with the premise being that Freddy and his friends travel to different areas and encounter enemies to defeat for Faz tokens. These Faz tokens allow a player to upgrade the animatronics that Freddy and his friends are composed of.
This game takes place between Star Ocean 2 and Star Ocean 3. The Star Ocean Series is coming to the Current Gen Consoles. The Battle system that many fans of the series love is back as well as the optional Private Actions that show character development. The Story should be more akin to Star Ocean 3 and 4 where you can explore the galaxy on the Ship Charles D. Goale, unlike in Star Ocean 1 and 2 where you are stranded on an alien planet.
Coming out for the PS4,Uncharted 4is the final game to be developed by Naughty Dog. Please note this doesn’t mean the series is ending. The game takes place after Uncharted 3, with a retired Nathan Drake. Nathan’s happy married life is interrupted when his dead brother drags him on a new adventure. Rumored to be his greatest adventure yet, will Nathan Drake manage to leave unscathed after this adventure?
Coming out for Windows, PS4 and XB1, the creators of Borderlands decided to take their love of first person shooters and implement MOBA Elements to createBattleborn. One of the elements being a leveling system that resets at the start of each match. There are 25 playable characters, with different skill sets which span from melee attackers, to long range gunners, to magicians. Set in a Space fantasy, will 2k’s gamble on this hybridization pay off?
This might be an Indie sleeper hit. Being developed by Hello Games for the PS4 and Microsoft Windows, it is a survival adventure game that is procedurally generated and goes one step beyond an Open World and becomes an Open Universe Game. There are quintillions of planets to explore and collect data on by uploading information to an Atlas. By uploading information to the Atlas you get paid in units to get better equipment or spaceship, or gain new abilities. If you drain too many resources from a planet or harm too many lifeforms, you will gain the attention of Sentinels which are guardians of the galaxies lifeforms. These Sentinels will attack a player who is too abusive to the denizens of a planet. All in all it sounds to be an interesting game, even rivaling the galaxy exploring of Spore.
I planned to stop at 5, because this one is a given but it’s worth bringing up. Coming out for PS4, XB1, and PC,Dark Souls 3is a game most if not all members of this site have been waiting to be released. It’s an Action RPG, with punishing levels and bosses. Need I say more? I’m prepared to die over and over again.
That’s my short but sweet list of some games I’m getting hyped for. What are your 5 upcoming hyped games? Show me what you’ve got in the comments!

Been a Gamer since I could hold an Atari joystick. A game worshipper who has enjoyed and analyzed a many Games. Always wanting more of the games I love.
My hype is reserved for
and a few other childhood series
KHIIIRatchet and CLank rebootFFXV (we’ll have to see about this one)
I’ve been very curious about No Man’s Sky for the most part but if it’s a universe that is in infinite expanse I’d get worried about any of the game breaking glitches that have a good chance of appearing and not to mention the repetition of it to begin with. But what do I know? I once thought Donald Trump was only a fairy tale told to scare kids who wanted to move to New York, now all of sudden he’s a real thing.
A new Star Ocean game sounds amazing. Since I was never able to get my hands on any of the previous games for too long, I really want to try it out when it comes out.
Other than those two though, I know my money will be right next to DkS 3 and The Last Guardian when they finally roll out.
I like those Rare Gems of Indie Games, when I find those rare ones. Indie Games potential is what attracts me to them.
I’ll definitely play it though, I just lowered my expectations accordingly. This is an indie game, after all.
If I get it I might spend a game attracting as many sentinels as I can to see how many I can take down. Just for laughs.
No Man’s Sky sounds very interesting, but all the gameplay I’ve seen so far just looks so… dull. Hopefully they have more to show off.
A plus is it seems to have a community database with planet locations and their lists of resources being shared. Maybe if enough people ask for it they would include a mp mode.
I was hyped for No Man’s Sky until they said it wasn’t going to be an MMO. So all that galaxy to explore and there won’t be seamless space to ground battles.
After Dark Souls III, my most hyped game for this spring is Hyper Light Drifter, which unfortunately doesn’t have an official release date yet.
Later on in the year I’ll be excited for The Last Guardian, Zelda, Eitr, and… probably some other things!
My children are very troll gamers, especially my eldest. There are plenty of times I jump in to one of my kids games and shut him down. Especially when he teabags his opponent.
There are so many time I shake my head at their gaming etiquette. I also tease them because they will play games like Far Cry with ease, but cannot handle Dark Souls.
with exception to the Article, the only game I am hyped for and will take a long time to put down is dark Souls 3. Everything else is a distraction from it.
MAybe when FF15 or FF7 remake come out, I’ll be ready for a break.
Next upcoming games for me are definitly: DaS3, UC4, The Division, Doom and i guess eitr (love devolver games since HM1&2 <3 ) xDStill feel like im forgetting something in the 1st half year… @__@ 2nd half definitly is outlast2 happening
My personal 5 most hyped apart from the obvious DkS3:
I assumed dn1nd wasn’t counting Dark Souls 3, since who isn’t hyped for this game? I assumed the subtext of the title for article was something like:
5 Games (Other Than Dark Souls 3) To Get Hyped For
I always find it interesting to see what games different Souls players are interested in.
None of the 5 (other than Dark Souls) is anything I am interested in playing. No Man’s Sky is intriguing for the concept, and I am glad it is being made.
If there weren’t another ten or so games I might play this year other than Dark Souls 3 (which is likely the game I’ll be playing 99% of the time after its release) I might even look into NMS. Since I will obsessively be playing DaS3 I’ll likely only buy one or two other games this year, if that. There is a lot announced to be released this year, but we’ll see what actually makes it. For me, most single player games that look cool will likely wait in favor of multiplayer games.
I do like articles like this, because I find out about games I hadn’t heard of, even if I don’t end up playing them.
I hope we do get to see Deep Down in some form at some point… hopefully we won’t have to wait as long as we did for The Last Guardian which (fingers crossed) we should see this year.
Man I can’t wait for Deep Dow…
Oh right. DS3 and Salt & Sanctuary are my big two for the year. No Man’s Sky looks pretty awesome, but not sure I’ll have time or money to justify it.
No Man’s Sky is a game I’m definitely keeping my eye on. The concept is genius. I hope the gameplay matches. I’m sure I’ll end up with this title one way or another because I think my daughter will really enjoy this one.
I really thought Battleborn had all the right elements to make it an instant success, but everything I’ve seen from it just looks boring and generic. As a huge fan of the Borderlands series and being a competitive guy, I really want to be proven wrong on this one.
Same as the Uncharted series was one I just couldn’t get into. Naughty Dog really impressed me with The Last of Us, so I really wanted to like Uncharted. They just never did it for me. They’ve obviously got a winning combination with series though. Maybe this game will change my mind..?
LMAO Whoops! I created the title so that’s my bad. Guess I can’t count. I’ll save it with a little clarification.
Your children are dead to me.
I usually make these lists to remind others of games of interest. I forgot about Ratchet and Clank. It might be because it hasn’t been popular with my kids.
FNAF is a game my kids love, so I keep track of their games and spin offs.
No Man’s Sky Piqued my interest. I also want to see how it develops.
Star Ocean and Unchartered Are Must haves to complete the Series. Star Ocean is the Absolute must have of the 2.
DS3 I’m eagerly awaiting.
I’ve never really been one for the Uncharted games so it would follow that I am not hyped for Uncharted 4. Also, I think the Five Nights at Freddy’s games were pretty cancerous so this new game, I understand that it is a spin-off, is certainly not going to be for me.
The others I’d say I’m on board. Also, about No Man’s Sky I guess it is a bit of an unknown quantity to me but it’s been on my radar for a while now and the concept really intrigues me. The implementation will be the determining factor. It strikes me as the type of game that could blow me away or easily bore me with little to no middle ground. Since I have high hopes for it I sincerely hope the former is the case.
What, no Ratchet and Clank?
also, that’s six games.
