Achilles: Legends Untold Gets New Gameplay with Dev Commentary
Upcoming Achilles: Legends Untold has a new gameplay video with the developer explaining combat, previewing enemies and more in this unique blend of souls and ARPG. Leaving early access on November 2nd.
Dark Point Games has released some new footage of their upcomingAction-RPGAchilles: Legends Untold. The video is narrated by the developer taking a look at what lies in Greece for the brutal Battle of Troy retelling. The game is a mix of challenging souls combat with an ARPG edge. In isometric view, players will be faced with soldiers, mythical monsters and even the undead that are roaming the city.
Players will start off at the Battle of Troy, fighting an onslaught of enemies. Much like souls games of yore, the world has linear pathways. To make things a bit more convenient there are fast travel points so you can revisit areas you’ve already claimed. But in true bonfire fashion, interacting with Shrines will respawn enemies.
Furthermore, players aren’t just aided with weapons such as spears. They also gain more magical abilities such as using a shield to hit enemies from afar. Upgrading skills are also introduced with a constellation-looking skill tree that uses skill points earned. This can be used to improve endurance, strength, vitality and new moves.
Achilles: Legends Untold has been early access but will be getting its full launch on November 2nd. Heading to PS5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam and Epic. The game has gone through numerous improvements for combat, with enemies gaining a number of iterations to perfect their unique moves. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day and the same goes for conquering combat.
In aprevious interviewwith the studio, Dark Point shared more about the GAIA or Group AI Action system which presents challenging foes with synchronised attacks. From the trailer you see them double-teaming, making for some punishing combat. Hopefully, this full launch will provide many hours of centurion action.
Along with the launch comes update 1.0 which has been outlined to have some changes and of course the full story. Expect further foes and further side-questing with the full release:
