Alan Wake 2 Devs Delay Launch, Now Closer to Halloween
Alan Wake has gotten delayed by 10 days to make room for the busy month’s releases. Now closer to a Halloween release.
Halloween is getting some spooky horror games, and the month is getting quite busy. To avoid clashes with launches, developer Remedy Entertainment has now pushed the horror sequel Alan Wake 2 toOctober 27th. This is just ten days after its originally announced release date of October 17th.
An update from the Alan Wake 2 team: we’re moving Alan Wake 2’s launch from October 17 to October 27.October is an amazing month for game launches and we hope this date shift gives more space for everyone to enjoy their favorite games. We can’t wait to show you what everyone’s…pic.twitter.com/GpLxyr2xvY
Good news for new players as you don’t have to play through the prequel if you don’t wish to (or don’t have the time with so many greatreleases this summer!) The developers have made the game welcoming for those stepping into Bright Falls for the first time. But it willstill offer a challengeand of course easter eggs from the first game.
While we’ll have to wait a little longer for its launch, I’m not complaining as October is already offering a plethora of titles. Hopefully, by then, we’ll have had our fill in September ofStarfield,Baldur’s Gate 3(on PS5),Lies of P, Spider-Man 2 as well asCyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, phew!
Looking at the release lineup for October we’re going to be spoiled for choice. Not only do we have the best looking soulslike to dateLords of the Fallento die, die and die again to, but a whole flurry of releases. Another RPG to have your eye on is the turn-based tactical RPGThe Lamplighters League. Alan Wake 2 is now launching toward the end of the month. But there is also the occult horrorAlone in the Darkto look forward to. If action is more your styleAssassin’s Creed Mirageis arriving slightly earlier than planned now at the beginning of the month.
If spooky games are on your agenda you can dive into the Backrooms Break, which takes the internet cult psychological horror to new levels offering a VR mode as well as a standard non-VR experience.World of Horrorthe retro-inspired RPG will be leaving from Early Access in all its Junji Ito-inspired pixel glory. If murder is more your game, Agatha Cristie’s Murder on the Orient Express will surely scratch that detective itch, as you solve the mystery on the rails (or maybe going off the rails?).
What will you be playing this spooky season? Will Alan Wake 2 tempt you to Bright Falls? Or will you be fighting the biggest boss of them all your already stacked backlog? Let us know in the comments below.
