Amazon Snags Another MMORPG Throne and Liberty

Amazon will be publishing the Korean MMORPG Throne and Liberty for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Publisher Amazon Games have been snapping up some popular games of late. They are now focused on an NCSOFT developed MMORPG Throne and Liberty. The game which is an online title from the Korean developer will be coming under the publisher for PS5, Xbox Series and PC. Amazon will be responsible for publishing the game in North America, South America, Europe and Japan.

Throne and Liberty is an expansive, story-driven MMORPG that mixes action-packed combat with a constantly changing landscape. Players can take control of their own destiny. Transform into animals like birds or fish and trigger powerful environmental effects like rainstorms or eclipses. The huge world of Throne and Liberty offers players the chance to engage in massive PvP encounters as well as PvE missions. Its immersive universe is full of fierce battles and dramatic landscapes. The game will also feature a “Free Class system” meaning it’s up to players to customise their builds. The title will support cross-platform play.

However, this isn’t NCSOFT’s first major multiplayer title as they have developed and published titles such as Lineage, AION, Blade & Soul andGuild Wars. Amazon is also no stranger to the MMO-verse with their ownNew Worldwhich had a massive launch, especially on Twitch. It also brought Smilegate RPG’sLost Ark, the Korean online ARPG title west. This looks to be another well-matched partnership, as Amazon snaps up another MMO, this time coming to consoles.

The final test of the MMORPG#ThroneandLibertywith no less than 100 players, will start soon, and will last until February 22. In addition, a media test will also take place on February 23.

From the looks of the footage shown, it has fast-paced combat similar to that found inBlack Desert, but more freedom in the way characters can be built. The world looks gorgeous and hopefully there are some interesting fights to be had. As you’d expect from a Korean MMO, character creation is in-depth with tons of facial/character customisation.
