Anthem Official Corn Maze Revealed By BioWare
In an attempt to cut through the noise of traditional big billboard, big budget, big trailer marketing,BioWarehas taken to mother nature to promote its new open world Action RPGAnthem. They’ve created a corn maze for it. Yes, you heard that. A corn maze. Don’t believe me? Watch:
In a world saturated with banners and billboards, getting the message out about our new game, Anthem, is more important than ever. Rather than taking a conventional approach, we’ve chosen a field as our medium. What better way to celebrate the growth of a new game than through corn, which also grows?
Can’t make this up folks. The 17 acre maze is comprised of a BioWare logo and one of the game’s soldier’s in the signature exo-suit. There’s obvious satire at play here and in terms of drawing attention, this certainly does. The maze is open from today until October 24th at the Edmonton Corn Maze so if you’re in the Edmonton area, it may be worth making some travel plans in that direction.
Anthem arrived on the sceneduring EA’s E3 presentationand has potential to become a new flagship series, especially in the wake ofMass Effect: Andromeda’slaunch hiccups. We recentlytook a look at that potentialand whether Anthem could carry the torch from the Mass Effect series as a new Sci-Fi franchise.
Thoughts on the corn maze? Let the puns flow. We’ll keep bringing updates on Anthem and any of its future wacky promos so be sure to stay tuned.

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.
I hope this game is at least reasonably successful. With Mass Effect at least unofficially dead, if this new series isn’t successful, Bioware may go the way of so many other beloved companies swallowed by and then gutted by EA.
lol yeah this was the single most puzzling game promo I’ve ever seen. I kept checking to see if it was a fake or satire because it was obviously tinged with comedy. I think the context here of Mass Effect taking some heavy lumps recently is what makes this seem kind of dumb, even if it’s a different branch of BioWare making the game. It’s like if you need win back someone’s trust, you probably don’t want to play a prank on them.
I’m from the land of corn mazes so it kinda just seems normal to me.
Like here’s a list of 21 places across the state that have them (including a sweet Super Mario one). And that’s definitely not all of them as a couple I know of aren’t on the list.
Is anyone else confused about how they feel? On one hand it was dumb as fuck, but on the other the video was quite funny…

Oh come on. It wasn’t that bad.
Alternatively, I could have circled a portion of the design and captioned it ”A-maize-balls”
It was good, though a little…corny.
give the man his due updoots. not like your going to give use them elsewhere.
Triple pun. Nice.
That’s a-maize-ing!
i can only hope the charterers will be as interesting as the corn they are advertised in.
