Assassin’s Creed Shadows Will Have ‘Long Relationships’

Assassin’s Creed Shadowswill feature more developed romantic relationships than in previous games in the series. This was explained byBrook Davies, one of the game’s narrative leads, in an interview, and it’s something the company has been clear about for some time. This is somewhat different thanAssassin’s Creed Valhallawhere romance was very casual.

The new game from Ubisoft’s popular franchise will also allow protagonists to engage in romantic relationships with other characters. This has been stated before, but now Davies elaborated, indicating that these relationships will be different from those in previousAssassin’s Creedgames.

In an interview with YouTuber Jorraptor, Brook Davies explained that unlike previous entries such as Odyssey or Valhalla, where protagonists had brief romances with many characters, the relationships in the game set in feudal Japan will have more depth.

“We’re going to have more developed relationships” “I think something unique about Shadows is that we will have more developed relationships,” Davies begins. “Opportunities to truly get to know people, socialize, and explore all kinds of varied relationships for Naoe and Yasuke.”

The two protagonists of the newAssassin’s Creedwill not only have different gameplay but also their own storylines, and it has been confirmed that there will be missions exclusive to each of them.

Brook Davies clarified that sporadic romances will still be present: “It’s not like a dating simulator, we have more serious relationships to develop over the long term, but also some lighter ones,” though he suggests that in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, players might decide to seek something more with some characters: “Will you get to know some of these people well enough to seek something more?” he asks.

Assassin’s Creed Shadowsreleases on November 15 forPS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
