Baldur’s Gate 3 to Include One of The Most Requested Features In Patch 7

Among the many new features of the upcoming update, new “evil” endings are expected, as well as strong mod support, cross-play, and more notable features for the role-playing masterpiece that is Baldur’s Gate 3.

For those who play cooperative split-screen multiplayer, patch 7 will fulfill one of their wildest dreams. Larian Studios has anticipated this feature in a community update.

Baldur’s Gate 3includes an online cooperative mode for two players, allowing players to enjoy the Forgotten Realms together.

However, to date, it has a few limitations, and it is still not possible to play across different platforms. In September, Larian Studios will give fans a big surprise. In community update number 28, via Steam, a spokesperson for Larian Studios detailed some of the new features incorporated in patch 7 forBaldur’s Gate 3.

Perhaps the most interesting is an added feature for split-screen co-op. If players are close enough, both screens can be unified into one, for a much fuller experience. It is somewhat like the cooperative mode in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which shows both characters in one frame, without any separation.

“Dynamic split-screen mode is coming! With our next update, friends will no longer be eternally confined to their side of the screen because the power of friendship transcends all obstacles, including screen partitions.”

Basically, it is a feature that merges both screens in cooperative mode. This can only be done if the distance between both characters (in the same location) is small.

“When playing in cooperative mode, you will have the option to merge split screens into one when you get close to each other. You can access this option directly from the HUD and from the game settings, both inside and outside of combat.”

Additionally, when cross-play is available,PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|Splayers will be able to play together without distinction. The fullest cooperative experience will arrive in September with patch 7.

The mentioned community update also provides more details about the mod editor, new “evil” endings, improvements for Honor mode, fixes, or access to the closed beta of patch 7, which begins on July 22.

Baldur’s Gate 3is one of the best RPGs in history, available onPC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.The game’s director, Swen Vincke, has acknowledged that so many awards were “a problem” when it came to working in an orderly manner at the studio.
