Beast: False Prophet Unveiled as New Title Plus Gets Second Major Update
Developer False Prophet has dropped a major second update for their tactical RPG which is now called Beast: False Prophet. Previously just named Beast, the game is currently in early access, but before it has its 1.0 release next year, the developer has released a big patch. The second major update brings new missions, foes and visual enhancements.
There is also the addition of new cutscenes, a new camp, further maps and an alternative Beast Mode transformation that players can gain from investing in the Exercise Beast Tree. There’s also a Loyalty/Treason feature that can make your companion leave the Warband if their Treason stat is maxed out before their Loyalty has.
Also mentioned in the patch notes are UX/UI updates such as new icons for Sharpshooter abilities, added info about weapon attack effects in the camp and an ability bar. Animations have also gained some further improvements for both movement and combat animations.
You can check out some of the new additions and updates in the latest trailer which shows the Warband fighting through some of the maps.
In case you missed it, Beast: False Prophet (which is its official name now) was released into early access in October via Steam. The game is set in a grimdark world where players make moral decisions that affect gameplay during combat.
It features a grid-less combat system and mixes in some brutal battles. Players will have to make use of their surroundings to gain an advantage over their enemies in turn-based moves. The game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5.
Set in the Ottoman empire, a veteran returns after a decade spent as a slave only to find their homeland of Carpathian almost unrecognisable. Over the years it’s been ravaged by a plague and also fallen under the influence of a king gone mad. The game is developed in Unreal Engine 5, adding gritty dark fantasy cut scenes and gory horror elements.
The setting is what you’d expect from a plague-ridden world that’s only making things much tougher to survive. The only people at his side are his loyal soldiers. Choosing to fight for the people or to kill them all, ultimately giving in to the beast.
