Black Myth: Wukongthe highly anticipatedaction RPGwill have an extra challenge inboss battles.Game Sciencehas implemented a second form for some bosses, but only for those who kill them fast enough.
The reality isGame Scienceaims very high. Its creators do not want to define it as a soulslike, although the game contains elements of the souls genre in its combat system.
It is also known that the title does not have difficulty modes. It will be the same challenge for everyone, but Game Science has adapted the combat so that it is not as difficult as inSekiro,Elden Ring, orDark Souls.
Black Mythalso incorporates a significant difference from soulslikes in its boss battles, as confirmed by the users onTwitter/X.
The bosses in the game will have multiple phases, but not all of them will be shown as part of normal gameplay, unlike what happens with Elden Ring’s DLCm as those phases may have special trigger conditions.
According to the information from GermanStrands,Black Myth: Wukongdifferentiates itself from soulslikes with a particular mechanic in the boss battles. Do not expect to see multiple phases in all fights by default.
Game Science’stitle includes multiple phases (or forms) for some bosses, but they will only be shown under specific conditions.
Basically, only players who finish the fight within a certain time (as quickly as possible within a range) will see the next phase of the boss in question.

That means if you take too long to defeat the first form, the next phase of the boss you are fighting will never be shown.The community is divided on the matter. Some believe it is a good measure, but others think it should be the other way around. That is, the next phases should be shown if the fight drags on.
It seems like a mechanic focused on the difficulty and challenge of the combat itself. If players take longer, the game will not torture them with another phase of the boss in question, while those who overcome the challenge faster will face a new form of the enemy.
Other aspects already confirmed for the Monkey King game include theDLCsthat will arrive after launch or the news that the physical edition does NOT come with a disc, which has been a disappointment.
