Blasphemous Returns With A Mobile Version
Blasphemous, the acclaimed game fromThe Game Kitchenstudio, will soon be back with a version adapted for Android and iOS mobile devices, which includes all the DLCs from the original title.
Blasphemous continues to wage war, penitents. After setting the standard on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and following the massive success of Blasphemous 2, the game from the Spanish studio The Game Kitchen is preparing to make its leap to mobile devices with a special version for Android and iOS.
At the Mobile Gaming Show, hosted by Ben Starr, the star of Final Fantasy XVI, the Seville-based developers announced that Blasphemous will be arriving on mobile devices, and is already available for pre-order for those interested.
With the massive success of Blasphemous and its sequel, many fans had requested a mobile version of this hack’n slash game. Their wish has come true, five years after the original release, and it’s happening with a meticulously detailed adaptation.
Although pricing and release dates are still unknown, we do know that the mobile version of Blasphemous will include the base game and all its DLCs, which include “The Stir of Dawn,” “Strife & Ruin,” and “Wounds of Eventide.”
In Blasphemous, we take on the role of the Penitent, the last survivor of a catastrophe caused by the Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow. In a perpetual cycle of penance and resurrection, the character travels through environments and battles enemies inspired by the religious iconography of Seville and its Holy Week.
In Blasphemous, one wrong move means death, soThe Game Kitchenhas ensured that the interface is optimized for touch screens, without affecting gameplay and maintaining the fluidity of the original adventure. However, those who prefer can use a gamepad compatible with their mobile device.
Blasphemous is a marvel of design and pixel art, so this mobile version preserves the artistic style with maximum resolution and the visual quality of the original version—everything to appreciate the gothic and eerie charm of the artists at The Game Kitchen.
This is excellent news for all those who wish to return to this magnificent Metroidvania, as well as for those eager to revisit the land of Cvstodia, while we impatiently await news of The Game Kitchen’s upcoming projects.
These plans will likely include new installments ofBlasphemous, whether it be a third chapter or even spin-offs. The Seville-based studio is determined to expand the universe they have created, perhaps with new formats, but always staying true to the roots and the visual and sound style that have made the franchise a global reference.
