Blizzard is reportedly developing a AAA game within the studio, though we don’t know how long it has been in the works. However, one of their employees hinted that it’s a AAA shooter with RPG elements.
Blizzard has games of all kinds onPC, Steam Deck, PS4, PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, not to mention mobile games oniOS and Android. So, we don’t know if this unannounced AAA game that mixes FPS and RPG is something already known or not.
The game is still unannounced, and this is one of the peculiarities spotted on the LinkedIn profile of Chris McCabe, Senior Director of Product Management at Blizzard Entertainment. Curiosity killed the cat, and it was Timur222 on X/Twitter who noticed this detail, though McCabe’s page has since been slightly modified.

What caught the attention of many was that this profile mentioned a first-person shooter RPG, leading some to speculate that it could be a project related to the Starcraft franchise. Others have joked about a hypothetical Overwatch 3, or even about the canceled PvE mode that gave birth to the whole Overwatch 2 project, which eventually led nowhere, despite new modes being introduced.
But as we mentioned, McCabe might have let slip more information than intended. This also reached ResetEra, leading to some changes on the site. By the time the information was made public in the forums, the person who posted it noted that McCabe had updated his information to only say “Unannounced AAA Title.”
If you check the Senior Director of Product Management’s profile now, you’ll see that he has deleted everything and only lists his work on Overwatch 2.
Interestingly, the still-unannounced game is expected to come to both PC and consoles, though it’s not confirmed if these include Sony, Microsoft, and/or Nintendo hardware.
It’s true that in the section where his position as Director of Product Management is mentioned, there’s a reference to the ‘Unannounced AAA Survival Game,’ but that was canceled by Microsoft, and details have already emerged.
Blizzard might indeed have a new unannounced AAA game, possibly a first-person shooter with an RPG theme, but we’ll have to wait because we know nothing about the game yet.
