Buy PSN Content on Amazon
As if Amazon couldn’t be any cooler and more useful than it already is Sonyjust announcedthat PSN games and DLC will now be available for purchase directly through Amazon. For those folks who do a lot of shopping already through Amazon (like me) or prefer to not use the PS Store for direct purchasing then this adds a lot of flexibility and convenience.
And to sweeten the pot, Sony had this to say via the PS Blog:
“In celebration of the launch, we’re pleased to offer a $5 credit good towards more PSN digital content sold on Amazon.com to anyone who purchases the digital version of games like The Last of Us, Batman Arkham Origins, Madden 25 and more. Just hop on over tothis page, purchase the game of your choice, and your credit will be automatically applied to your account. We’re excited to offer you a new place to discover and purchase PlayStation Network Content, and we welcome any feedback you have.”
So that’s a $5 credit for all you folks who were planning on buying some of these digital big releases. I see this coming in handy for the PS4 crowd who will be furthering the trend towards digital. With the 500GB (400 in practice) hard drive, there’s a lot of room on there for more digital content than before. What I am really liking is the positive feedback loop Sony is implementing here. With PS Plus, the Playstationintegration into the Rewards programand now this with Amazon, there are options and deals for Playstation customers at every corner. The name of the game is flexibility and this fits right in to that. An initiative like this isn’t a huge earthquake, but it gives gamers the option to buy content the way that suits them the best and that presentation is a win for the gamer in the end.
