CD Projektis hoping to bring back many fans, along with attracting new ones withThe Witcher 4and theCyberpunk 2077sequel.

CPR is developingThe Witcher 4and the sequel toCyberpunk 2077forPC, Steam Deck, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S,though no release dates have been confirmed yet. The Polish developers are very clear about their aim to win back many fans. After releases likeThe Witcher 3 and Phantom Liberty, the studio still wants to redeem itself with players and hopes to see both new and returning users in these upcoming titles.

In a recent interview,Cyberpunk 2077sequel’s associate game director Pawel Sasko shared his optimistic view on the matter while discussing the game’s release in Night City.“I accept it and I understand it,” said Sasko. “It might be a situation that some will never experience. But it’s the price we unfortunately have to pay for what happened.”The developers often revisit the disastrous launch ofCyberpunk 2077,a rare case of failure that was later redeemed as nearly everything improved.

“But I hope that, through the work we are doing, through the things we are showing, we can truly win back some of those people,” Sasko added.

He is confident that “when they hear someone talk about the incredible experiences they can have in, for instance,Phantom Liberty, the nextWitcher, the new Cyberpunk, or Hadar,” they will return.

“When they realize that these games offer incredible value, they will seek them out, play them, and enjoy them,” just like many did withCyberpunk 2077.So far, we know thatHadarisn’t “a mix of cosmic horror and feudal Japan,” but CD Projekt’s new IP is the first original creation from the studio.

“There’s nothing we can say to convince anyone,” Sasko commented. “There will only be a moment when we need to show up,” and perhaps fans will return for both projects.Meanwhile, CD Projekt RED’s CEO has already shared updates about the new IP and how it will differentiate itself fromThe Witcher and Cyberpunk. It’s clear that CD Projekt is hopingThe Witcher 4and theCyberpunk 2077sequel will bring back many fans.
