Chaos Gate –  Daemonhunters Gets Assassin-Focused Execution Force DLC

Chaos Gate –  Daemonhunters, the Warhammer 40,000 tactical RPG gets new assassins to take out your foes in new DLC.

Praise the Emperor, as he has seen fit to release the members of the shadowy Officio Assassinorum into the midst of the galaxy. Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters gets its second paid DLC, The Execution Force, this July.

Alongside the expansion is a new and meaty update that will definitely bring heresy to its knees.

The Assassinorum is a secretive group within the Imperium of Mankind. It is the collective term for what are called the Temple Assassins. These citizens of the Imperium are extremely skilled and extremely deadly individuals who strike at the heart of mankind’s foes. What makes them even more fearsome is that they are normal men and women, instead of the physically enhanced ranks of the Adeptus Astartes or even the Grey Knights.

These Assassins are able to go toe-to-toe with the universe’s most horrific abominations. They have even been around before the Horus Heresy. The Assassinorum is further subdivided into different “temples”, also known as “clades”. Each Temple has a specific discipline and specializes in different styles of killing their foes.

There are four prominent Temples within the Imperium, but there exist many more lesser-known ones.

Players of Chaos Gate will get access to four different types of assassins from four different temples: Vindicare, Eversor, Culexus, and Callidus. While these powerful units won’t be available from the get-go, a unique event will trigger the ability to enlist their aid later on. Players can mix and match their units in a deployment and can have any number of assassins on a mission. However, you are limited to only one assassin per template.

Callidus agents are what you would typically think of when thinking of assassins. They are masters at stealth and deception, and can often complete their objectives without anyone noticing that they were even there. In-game, they can get near enemies without initiating combat with the rest of your forces. Callidus Assassins also bring skills that can deal with high HP and heavily armored foes.

The followers of the Culexus temple are terrifying humans born with a birth defect – they have absolutely no connection to The Warp whatsoever. As such, they have a nullifying presence on the battlefield that specializes in targeting enemy Psykers and other Daemonic creatures. They have a terrifying battlefield aura that also causes them to have a bit of control over the powerful Warp Surges.

Vindicare operatives are master marksmen that can surgically take out key targets even before a battle can begin. They have excellent precision skills that can wound enemies and cause various bleeding effects. Vindicare assassins are inherently patient, as they wait for the perfect opportunity to strike. It is even said that these agents can even slow down their metabolism to a crawl in an effort to wait out their target for a perfect shot. Sometimes this could even take weeks.

Last are the Eversor assassins. These are arguably the most horrific of the Temples, as they come equipped with a grinning skull for their helmet. They are furious and brutal melee warriors that make it a point to strike fear into the hearts of their foes. Eversors care little for stealth, and instead wreak the most pain and destruction possible. The Eversors do not need Willpower nor use Cooldowns on their skills. Instead, they make use of their very own health to activate abilities. However, they relish in this and recover HP whenever they perform a melee kill.

The Execution Force DLC will add two new mission types into the fold. First, we have the “Tentarus Hive” mission type. This will task the Grey Knights with eliminating a living hive of corruption. However, this will be invulnerable initially until the Knights can destroy Hive Germs scattered throughout the map. Missions of this type will be quite risky, as you can choose to split up your forces for Germ-hunting efficiency or keep everyone close by for a stronger, slower push.

We will also be getting Boarding Action missions which will have the Knights invade a nearby enemy cruiser and destroy their power generators. Players will need to complete their objectives quickly, lest the Baleful Edict suffers heavy damage. The clock is ticking!

The free Update XIII will bring three new enemies, two new warp surge events, and three new pieces ofwargearto further customize your champions.Duty Eternal, Chaos Gate’s first DLC, added the Venerable Dreadnought unit.
