CP2077 Phantom Liberty Expansion Too Hot to Handle as Devs Advise Check Your PC Cooling
Developer CD Projekt Red advise players playing on PC to check their cooling systems before playing upcoming expansion CP2077 Phantom Liberty.
Upcoming expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is coming in hot. Recently lead scene programmer for CD Projekt Red Filip Pierściński has shared on X (yup still sounds weird, Twitter) that players on PC should check their cooling systems as the game will be working hard on their CPU. He gave an example that an “8 core” is expected to utilise a 90% workload. The same goes for those who are preparing to play CP2077 2.0.
Follow-up to my previous tweet. My intention was to highlight the need to maintain your cooling systems and check them regularly. Neither Cyberpunk 2077 after 2.0 nor Phantom Liberty will melt your PCs. Game will perform well on recommended hardware.https://t.co/o2lNwZAFlepic.twitter.com/LmBePDfhY5
He cleared up in a following post that the game will work well on recommended hardware, and despite the initial post, there isn’t concern for melting CPUs and just to make sure it’s working as it should. A quick spec guide was shown to give examples of what you can expect from your rig for minimum to Ultra.
Recently the studio has been gearing up forPhantom Liberty‘s release alongside the free update 2.0 on September 26th. The update will bring a bunch of the usual bug fixes, but also holds a few updates including UI and enhancements. Major additions are vehicle combat, combat AI improvements, a new police system, as well as changes to loot and crafting.
The paid expansion, on the other hand, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty will bring a whole new area called Dogtown, a new storyline, new quests, boss fights, vehicle missions, a relic skill tree, and 100 new items as well as an increased level cap to 60.
