Creative Assembly, the team behind theTotal Warseries, is reportedly working on a newStar Warsgame, according to a new report. This would be another achievement for theStar Warsuniverse, which has ventured into many genres in the world of video games, fromFPS to Souls-like games.
Star Wars is always present, whether in the form of movies, TV series, or video games. Currently in development areStar Wars Outlaws, set to release at the end of August,Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake, expected to launch this year, andStar Wars Eclipse, which will likely arrive next year. Now, there are rumors of another title in development that would be part of one of the most important strategy game sagas in recent video game history.
This would be none other than a Total War game created byCreative Assembly.The information comes from the websiteDualShockers, which reports that the studio is working on three Total War games, one of which is set in theStar Warsuniverse.
Although they are unaware of how far along the development of this game is, they suggest that given the current annual release rate of theTotal Warseries, the title based on George Lucas’s work will likely arrive within the next two years.
This would mark a return to strategy for the Star Wars saga. In fact, a couple of weeks ago, we talked about the iconicEmpire at War, while on the other hand, it would open a third branch of Total War. This would follow the historical settings that have produced titles like the subseriesRome: Total WarandTotal War: Three Kingdoms, and the Warhammer Fantasy universe setting,Total War: Warhammer, which has already seen three installments.
Additionally, the studio’s last project outside of the Total War series, the extraction shooterHYENAS, ended up being canceled. After this,Creative Assembly, which has three development studios and a motion capture studio, stated that they would focus on strategy games.
