Crusader Kings 3 Gets Big Roadmap Revealing Two Expansions Plus DLCs

This year will make the start of Crusader Kings 3: Chapter 3 which includes two large scale expansions Legends of the Dead and Rados to Power. Also planned are DLCs the Wandering Nobles event pack and the Couture of the Capets cosmetic clothing pack.

The first expansion to be released for Crusader Kings 3 is Legends of the Dead. It is described as a Core Expansion by Paradox. These are most likely quite substantial in size but not the same as the major expansions previously released. By the name Legends of the Dead, Crusaders are going to explore ways to improve their renown. Or find ways to become a stronger ruler, cementing their legitimacy. The expansion is expected to be released on March 4th on Steam and Microsoft.

New gameplay elements will help players capitalise on their legendary status through fresh decisions and actions. As a player’s legendary reputation grows, new elite buildings become accessible. There’s also the choice to organise legendary feasts. Here guests can hear about their heroism from the court’s poets and bards. They will regale their tales of bravery (whether these are fictional or not). Employing an official court historian to document their legendary exploits or have them immortalised in art. This is in addition to two new legend-focused legacies: a Legitimacy Legacy and a Heroic Dynastic Legacy.

On the morbid side, new illnesses and mourning features. This will introduce diseases such as Measles, the Bloody Flux, Holy Fire, and the fearsome Black Death. If your court falls to one of these sicknesses, players can perform funeral rites which are based on their particular chosen faith.

Following the Legends of the Dead is the expansion Roads of Power expected to arrive later in the year for Crusader Kings 3. This expansion follows the Byzantine Empire and will include a new form of Administrative Government. Giving players the choice to explore the land as an adventurer for hire, along with unique Byzantine-themed events and elements.

Players can purchase each of the expansions separately or as part of the Chapter 3 expansion pass for $43.98 USD. This will include immediate access to the Couture of the Capets cosmetics DLC which holds new fashions inspired by the French royals in the High Middle Ages.
