In the image we see a stack of the different available versions of the current genBloodborneas well as a copy of the Demon’s Souls Collector’s Edition for PS3 on the top. Granted, this could simply be a proud parent displaying all of their exclusive Playstation offerings. Or it could be a demonstration of the spiritual succession of the franchise from Demon’s Souls to Bloodborne.
Or it could be however crazy and unlikely a tease at a potential current gen re-release/port of the iconic original Souls game. We can all dream, can we not? Of course if that were a reality, there would be a likely large amount of licensing hoops to jump through between Sony, all of the different regional publishers and From Software.
We can safely assume there would be a demand for it, especially if From were to ever decide to revisit the broken archstone’s Land of Giants, of which we’ve already seen exisiting scrapped in game assets which never saw the light of day. It would certainly make for one hell of a comeback with reboots and remakes being all the rave in today’s gaming climate.
What are your thoughts? Would you purchase a current gen port? Or are you satisfied with the state of the game as is on the PS3? This is obviously complete unsubstantiated speculation and From President Hidetaka Miyazaki has said recently it wouldn’t be right to keep making Souls games, but it’s still an interesting thought nonetheless! Would be cool if there will be a remaster of Demons Souls. But if this happens I hope they make the blue dragon in 1-4 a bit less of a d***. World 1 is my fravorite part of Demons Souls except the part at the end where to you have to run up the stairs while the blue a**hole spits fire over 95% of the stairs wich will most likely kill you if you`re just a tiny bit to far/not far enough.
This would be great especially if it came with a new arch stone to explore.

I would if there was added content, but would still get it if nothing was added hoping for a resurgent tsunami of PvP action! After Bloodborne lost its appeal and then SotFS did the same, I fired up DemS and fell in love all over again. The only downer was the lack of life… and covenants. What if they released DemS with active Land of Giants archstone, that possibly had some DS2 lore cookies, and added covenant options to DemS NPCs. I realize DemS and DS lore is meant to stand apart, but I think it would be cool to link the titles together via the parallel realm of Giants. The covenat thing is probably unrealistic, but Land of Giants could definitely be a real addition…

This would be pretty good. I did get kind of sick of it when I went back to it, but It would be really interesting to go back and see what that broken arch stone has in store for us
I tried doing that outside of the Flamelurker arena, but it wouldn’t let me select “Use” with the Blue Eye Stone. That is the correct item?

Like i sasid, this is not my idea, but I really like the reasoniong behind it!
The co-op for Demon’s Souls is pretty thin at the moment, but it works like Dark Souls. You use a signstone to put your sign down, and you must be in human form (use a stone of ephemeral eyes) to see other people’s signs and click them.
It does figure that this teaser comes up a week after I pick up Demon’s Souls. Will I buy it again? Most Certainly. Maybe if on the PS4 I will actually figure out how to summon cooperators.
I hope that if this is true, and I hope to GOD it is, that they would balance and tweak a few things.Magic 2opKilling bosses with one pyro spell is not balanced .-.And fix that dupe glitch because I won’t resist not using it!
I’ve never heard of any developer having problems dealing with publishers to get an updated version of a game released.
That said I think you’re reading too much into this.
Honestly I would be thrilled just to get the PS3 version on PS Now. I dropped it because there’s basically no RPGs on the service (and Dragon’s Dogma was not among the 21 Capcom games added in November). If Demon’s Souls was added (or even Kingdom Hearts 2.5, a game very similar to Demon’s Souls 😉 ) I would probably resubscribe.
Nice to think about, and I would hope they expanded on the game and kept a lot of their brilliant ideas from Bloodborne (charged attack backstabs, L1/L2 attacks, spells that can be effectively aimed manually without too many homing spells, etc). However, I don’t see them doing this anytime soon, if at all. I’d sooner expect a Bloodborne 2, but who knows?

It’s incredibly uncertain at this point, and given the red herrings they like to toss into their own games, I wouldn’t be surprised if this amounted to nothing. Still, the image was worth reporting if for nothing else but to wonder.
If they do port it and they flesh out the land of Giants I hope they make it at least as big as Boletaria. An extra 4 bosses with boss weapons and an new NPC or 2 would be awesome to see.
Oh that would be amazing. That is the Souls game I missed out on, due to not having a ps3.
