Cult of the Lamb’s New Update ‘Sins of the Flesh’ Releases January 16th
Developer Massive Monster has announced the next update for Cult of the Lamb called ‘Sins of the Flesh’ will be released on January 16th.
Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Massive Monster have announced ‘Sins of the Flesh’ update for Cult of the Lamb will be coming on January 16th. The free update will add further “pleasures” for Followers. It boasts to be the biggest and most “wicked” content update yet. It will have new features, quests, improvements and a new evil resource that rewards those who obey the sins of the flesh.
The new features include new progression systems that will add further depth and complexity when it comes to leading your followers with Sins and Disciples. Taking on the sinful path, followers will be able to complete gluttonous rituals, construct vain buildings and commit wrathful doctrines. There’s even a revamped levelling system, with only the most devout followers being invited into the inner circle of Disciples.
Further improvements to cult life are underway. Gain shiny poop, baneful brooms and bigger and better buildings to make Cult life the best it can be. The new shiny excrements have a new effect, such as yielding more fruitful crops and being even more effective. An upgraded Janitor Station will make keeping the place clean more automated as well as Storage Structures to keep it that way.
Gain a brand new Blunderbuss weapon to blast away the heretics. This adds a whole new combat playstyle with a heavy charge attack to snipe enemies from afar.
When you’re not out in combat, you can take part in new activities at your base such as becoming a mixologist at the Drinkhouse. Rustle up some tasty concoctions such as Eggnog, Brog Brew and even some less tantalising ones such as Poop Juice, ew.
As you may have guessed from the title of the update procreation is now on the table. When two cult followers fall in love they may even drop an egg. Let them head into the Mating Tent to form their offspring which utilises the trait system. Nurture the egg to grow it into a new follower ready to join your Cult from the get-go. Or you can simply use the egg for food, as nothing goes to waste in Cult of the Lamb.
If you love rhythm games, the new Drum Circle mini game adds way to gather your loyal followers to form your own rock band or Flock Band. Simply follow the music commands and gain more Sin for your performance. The update also brings new outfits and options to keep your Cult in the latest fashion.

The update certainly adds some unique features and will make the game even more dynamic when it comes to growing your loyalists.
The game has received updates such as theRelics of the Old Faith DLCwhich added a new sword weapon, heavy attacks, photo mode to share those precious moments as well as a post-game storyline. More content seems to be underway this January and the great news is that it’s free! The content seems to keep growing with the developer continuing to support the game, making this a great buy for around $25. We named it one of our5 favourite demosto try out and for good reason. If you’re yet to pick up the ritual and ruin title you should give it a go. The bundle on Steam will save you 10% which includes the base game, heretic pack, soundtrack and cultist pack.
Cult of the Lamb is one of those rare games that has a unique balance of roguelike combat and plenty to do when not on a mission. Its absurd, yet fun gameplay and interactions are probably why it made such waves as an indie game. The game’s premise is simple, try to survive different levels of combat as a lamb led to the slaughter. Grow a following that not only helps in future runs but gains unique rewards along the way. There’s a whole mess of wickedly humourous entanglements with your growing following, which can at times hinder your progress with dissenters.
