Cyberpunk 2077 Celebrates Anniversary with Update 2.2
CD Projekthas announced a surprise update (2.2) forCyberpunk 2077, with details to be revealed tomorrow during a live stream onYouTube and Twitch.
If you thoughtCyberpunk 2077was done receiving updates, think again. Well, that’s what most of us believed, but CD Projekt has surprised fans by taking advantage of the fourth anniversary of its futuristic RPG to announce this new content-packed update.
Despite the studio’s focus shifting towardThe Witcher 4currently in active production,Cyberpunk 2 (Project Orion), and other projects, the Polish developer has confirmed a major update forCyberpunk 2077.
Following the release of versions 2.0 and 2.1, this critically acclaimed RPG is gearing up for update 2.2, which will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. As the game celebrates its fourth anniversary, CD Projekt intends to mark the occasion with a live stream unveiling the update’s details.
This won’t be a small hotfix or minor patch—it’s a substantial update with new content, though the specifics will remain under wraps until tomorrow.

Momot has also teased that there’s still “gas left in the tank,” hinting at this update months ago, even as the studio shifted its focus to other projects. However, he confirmed that this update will not include optimizations for the PS5 Pro or a ‘New Game Plus’ mode.
“Will the 2.2 patch optimize the game for PS5 Pro or add New Game Plus? The answer is no. We have other interesting things in the works, and we’ll discuss them during the stream tomorrow. We hope you’ll enjoy them!”
It’s been confirmed that theCyberpunksequel will not feature Samurai’s music, as the studio has already hired new talent to work on Project Orion, its follow-up.
