Cyberpunk 2077 Online Element Woes
Just recently, fans had been uneasy over a statement developer CD Projekt RED made in aprevious interviewwith Polish website,Strefalnwestorow, regarding microtransactions in their upcoming sci-fi RPG,Cyberpunk 2077.
The statement the studio specifically mentioned, had to do with an online portion for the open-world game. And due to the recent fiasco with EA’sStar Wars: Battlefront IIloot boxes and their alarmingly prevalent presence, people were understandably worried.
“Online is necessary, or very recommended if you wish to achieve a long-term success. At some point, we have mentioned that there will be a certain online element related toCyberpunk.”said Kiciński, CEO of CD Projekt RED
CD Projekt RED then took to Twitter to address the fears of a microtransaction system inCyberpunk 2077,explaining that everyone can expect the same level of content fromThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. And then tying up the message with:“We leave greed to others”.
