Dark Souls 3 Build of the Week: Mad Bomber Pyro

Welcome to our weekly series that features a community submittedDark Souls 3build.Dark Souls 3 build craftingis one of the most enjoyable parts of the game and a big reason for its longevity. Who better to turn to when in need of a new idea than your fellow players? To have your build featured on the blog, you may submit your best setups on ourforum threadand every week we will select one at random to be featured here. Feel free to discuss and debate the build’s strengths and weaknesses but as always be constructive with your fellow Dark Souls players. This week’s build,“Mad Bomber Pyro”comes from community memberRizenand is aPyromancyfocused build.

This build is intended to focus on the short game when invading or playingUndead matches.Power Withinnot only increasesattackbut alsostaminaregeneration, which aids nuke spells likeChaos Bed Vestigesthat consume large quantities of stamina. Snipping by free aiming spells and surprises are ideal but not mandatory.

At first, try to overwhelm the enemy with Vestiges and kill them before they can get to you. If they close in, switch to close range spells likeBlack SerpentorBlack Flameand play keep away. TheTarget Shieldparries rush attacks andBlessedto offset Power Within’s damage to your character. TheBlindfold Maskincreases mid and close-rangeDark SpellsandSworddamage.

*Depending on SLv and preferences add points to Vit, Vig, End, etc as desired.

The idea is to keep the enemy off-balance while they struggle to come to you, then make attacks risk beingparried. Play strategic-aggression as stamina regen is a big part of the strategy, but only lasts 30 seconds. You can trade the Ring of Favor for the Lingering Dragon Crest ring to increase Power Within’s duration; but then you lose significantHealth, Stamina andCarry Weightboosts. If all else fails, you still have a powerful straight sword to fall back on.

The downsides are if you’re geared toward offense and can’t take much damage or fight a drawn out battle. Butinvadingis very kill or be killed anyway. It’s better to take out gank members fast than have them surround you.

As a side note, this build can be highly effective to quickly take out bosses and mini bosses vulnerable toFire, Dark or Parry if you’re confident. Waves of enemies can exhaust you so it’s not recommended for exploring levels.

Big fan of the spell loadout, I’ve used the set in builds from low to high levels, and the notorious longsword roll catches pair well.

Prisoner’s Chain over Ring of Favor might come out a bit ahead on bonuses

Cool, my build was featured

I enjoyed the article 🙂
