Feel free to discuss and debate the build’s strengths and weaknesses but as always be constructive with your fellow Dark Souls players. This week’s build, “The Resilient Princess” comes from community member FatTiger and is a Dexterity focused build.
For the most part, this is supposed to be a PvP and cosplay build from Fire Emblem. The character we are emulating is Lucina from Awakening. Her Falchion most closely resembles the Hollowslayer alongside with the ability to wield Marth’s Rapier of choice. The Prisoner’s Chain is symbolic to her linking to the future, acting as her burden if she doesn’t do her objective correctly. The Ring of Favor simply represents the luck behind her existence and how she is mostly blessed to even still be alive. Coming from a future that is in ruins, she’s pretty darn lucky. That said, this build also gives you a setup you need to play a fun and interesting PvP setup. Be sure to make your character a female with blue hair for the Lucina cosplay!
The goal behind this build is to be a cheeky person who tries to bait out each attack. If done properly, you can easily counter stab with the immense range from poking your opponents. The Hollowslayer hits like a truck when 2 handed and using its awesome thrust-heavy attack. The Weapons art stance is what drives me into using this the most since you can safely trade a blow with it’s thrusting Stance-attack. (Weapons art heavy). You can hyper armor through an attack knowing that you have a large health pool from the rings. Yes, you will take a lot due to the lowered damage absorption. But, it’ll be worth the trade. However, if the person keeps running away, do use the Estoc since you can truly abuse it knowing that you have the Leo’s Ring equipped. (Don’t get carried away with it though. You might find yourself washing your mouth out with soap). The Caestus is a staple weapon to use for parrying. Use it if you feel that you can bait out parry.
