Emergence
Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.
I also feel the angel nerf is pointless.
Most people will have passed and defeated their spawners anyway now.Bit annoying considering I couldn’t use hidden body passed them but can now they are gone hahaha.
Infusion buff is welcomed for me as I use magic weapon etc.
Depending on how hard the nerf hits the RKPUGS, I can see it being either a typical UGS damage wise, or totally useless.
And I haven’t even gotten to use them yet.
Angels getting nerfed is odd to me. I get that they’re tough but they’re not insurmountable by any stretch. A little timing and a little fortune is all you need. Compared to everything else the DLC throws at you, they were the least of my frustrations.
Ringed Paired getting a nerf is a good thing. Anyone who watched Rubhen on last week’s Arena night knows.
nerfing the angels is uncalled for. They were a great challenge that you had to address one way or another…plus once you know how to get rid of them, they are totally trivial. My second playthrough of the DLC was super easy in this regard.the boost on sharp infusions up to 60 (hopefully) is great news for my new dexterity toon lol…well, if I ever manage to beat this bloody dragon!
It looks like gank defense is getting nerfed, though.
They’re nerfing Angels? I’m actually a little disappointed. Hidden body working against them is nice, though.
I’m glad the Homing Spearmass is getting a little nerf but Spear’s defense against ganks is being boosted. Before this patch, the only really viable option against a full party was to run away and let your spears wear them down in what has to the be single most boring, monotonous, and effective strategy I’ve ever seen.
Elemental and Raw infusions getting a buff is really good news for non-Str/Dex builds. Hopefully Blessed and Simple get enough to be useful as weapon infusions instead of “parry tool” (i.e. caestus) infusions. I’m kind of surprised Simple doesn’t just do physical damage like Blessed, because as it is now it can only ever be a strictly weaker version of Crystal.
Exile Greatsword and the Ringed Knight Paired Greatswords getting a nerf was obvious. Tiny weapons like Daggers being briefly better as Heavy instead of Sharp was hilarious while it lasted. If not this patch, I’m hoping From eventually does the right thing and makes Heavy/Sharp infusions go to 60 but makes Refined stop at 40/40.
Toxic’s stamina penalty being reduced probably means it won’t be possible (or at least, far more difficult) to break boss AI by neutering their stamina regeneration.
Interesting stuff. Thanks, E.
I just don’t play in the arena. For a number of reasons. Most commonly, people who start losing try to avoid you for the rest of the match so it ends up as a draw. Something like 20% of the matches I did ended up with somebody doing that, or trying to do that. I found better players outside of the arena too.
Oh my god, where the patch where the player boss can use healing miracles or even better where the patch for using healing miracles during duels in the arena. Call me salty but man that’s annoying.
Infusions buffed. FINALLY.
