Anew regulation for Dark Souls 3 is coming on July 1st for players, as shared by Bandai Namco community managerKimmundi. It will not require a patch or maintenance period.

Thoughts on the changes? Some interesting modifications to weapons and scaling in here. Sound off below!

So they nerfed the dark spam sword….ok sure.Now it is not the only straight sword that shoots telekinetic waves on each swing. They all do and much more painfully than any other weapon in this game.So now take your bait on the next meta spam sword to replace the dark sword.

imo, lothric spam sword is in pretty good position in the race.

I like the majority of the changes since this time around as I have dabbled in Faith and it occurred to me that all except one soul weapon that required faith actually scaled with it. I was about to make a thread because pickings are slim going that path IMO. So I’m kinda excited for this change.

Assuming the Hornet ring is a nerf….about f***ing time.

I’m glad Heysels pick is getting a buff. It’s garbo currently.

My only gripe. My Bae Mornes Hammer.

I hope it is close to it’s current power. If not that’s kinda BS if you play around the meta SL. I have just completed in the last week or so my Mornes Hammer build at SL120. You pretty much have to center your entire build around that weapon only! and have low life to boot. It consumes stamina like no other weapon I’ve used as well. So what I’m saying is that if you have achieved a build to wield it one handed at SL120, you earned that damage IMO. But I’m assuming this patch is addressing to those that get 30 str to 2hand it and 25 fai with preist’s ring to get it to 30 to wreck at lower levels. Thanks guys -__-

a reduction in light/medium armor defense properties would have been nice, but otherwise looks great ^^

nothing much for me.

i already can one hit riposte with a dagger at low sl. think it stays the same with hornet ring nerfed and the increased critical. but its good dagger guy gets a bit more viable.

as for my sl59 faith guy i get an extra weapon option (Lothric ‘s Holy Sword) and its good Lightning Stake only takes one slot now. the extra damage of Divine Pillars of Light wont make much difference i guess cause u can only hit PVP with one beam. but it was a PVE spell after all, so maybe it becomes a beast now on big fat bosses as you can hit them with more pillars at once.

Daggers – would not be sad to see them boosted up to at least 120 critical, paired with assumed hornet nerf, all around good

Dark Sword – whatever

Anri’s – dammit, just as I got my Man-Grub swordmage done. ffff they’re gonna ruin it.

Wolnir – sure, it needed help

Crescent Moon Sword – could become a viable mage weapon, current requirements are compatible

Morne’s – ouch, efficiency of using this weapon is going to be spread thin

Lothric’s Holy Sword – doubt it changes how anyone really specs for this

Yorshka’s Spear – still probably not interesting

Scholar’s Candlestick – lol?

Demon’s Fist – nice

Greatsword of Judgement – escape trash tier?

Heysel’s Pick – sick, I know what I’m replacing my nerfed Anri’s with

All shield-piercing – yey

All Skills that enchant a weapon with special properties: extended length of effect – ok

Obscuring Ring – BOO

Hornet Ring – assuming nerf, yey

Magic Stuffs – ok w/e

This is a step in the right direction. I never understood why some weapons with magic WA attacks didn’t scale of magic stats.

The buff to lightning stake and divine pillars is/was needed, they were either totally outclassed by other, cheaper spells or did piss poor damage.

I don’t quite understand why they added shield pierce to all attacks, so far on shotel-type weapons it was R2 to pierce shields, and that worked fine. If that’s how it is now, I want shield pierce on all attack of the darkdrift.

I’ll have to give yorshka’s spear a spin. Haven’t ever tried it …

I am deeply dissappointed in Anri’s nerf. The weapon is perfect for high levels. I just hope they leave luck scaling alone and focus on lowering str/dex scaling.

It wouldn’t be a fromsoft game without broken criticalls.

Because magic is OP plz nerf. I call it day one.

Nooooo, I was afraid that they would change the crescent moon sword now I have to find someone to transfer it from my dex character.This may be the defining moment that turns the pvp from annoying and boring to fun.>I have heard a lot of complains about this weapon but it did quite good with my int build (18/18/50). The damage (when buffed at least) was on par with the other greatswords.Also HORNET RING NERF, nerf that thing to the ground, remove it even from the game.

Oh my god they are buffing the greatsword of judgement!

It might actually be viable now. They extending the effect of weapon selfbuffs (profaned anyone? :p).

All shield piercing skill weapons now pierce them normally nowand HORNET RING NERF! YEEEEES
