As release date draws near, more information on the upcoming sequel to Dark Souls is revealed to keep the fans hyped to the max

Today, we have several new reveals

Watch gameplay footage of three new areas, converse with an NPC about a familiar robber, and try out sorcery and melee combat

Woot! new stuff, it looks amazing. Can’t wait to see how i would take down those new enemies and see other people strategies. Although i haven’t finished Dark Souls yet, i want to play Drk2!

I think you misunderstood the guy’s motivations. You see, the game had him so stressed out at that point that it was leading to very real health problems. It was with that in mind that he decided to see Drangleic’s leading acupuncturist. He didn’t die from an arrow, those were needles and the death was the result of a coincidental simultaneous heart attack. Poor fella

Really? That’s not what I’m reading in the OP. How do you explain the “since most people can’t afford to install a render farm in their basement”-part (which suggests a cut-down or simplified method)? And “light mapping solution” definitely seems to point to a tool to create pre-baked light maps — meaning pre-rendered. Ah, what do I care, I probably won’t be even making maps …

They’re saying the lightmapping wasnt even done in the toolset to begin with, and lightmapping has nothing to do with wither or not the scene will be rendered with ambient occlusion. It doesnt suggest anything is cut down or simplified. It’s like saying since most people dont have a mo-cap studio we’re going to implement an alternate animation rigging method into the toolset. Light maps “are” pre-rendered. Ambient occlusion is not, it’s unrelated.

Are you high? It’s not about rendering capabilities. It’s about how lighting is defined in an area. Youre going to be adding and modifying lights with a different method than the developers did, and it’s not a “cut down” it’s an “addition” to the toolset.
