Dark Souls Remastered in Unreal 4 By Fans
Recently Nintendo published the first gameplay footage any of us have seen ofDark Souls Remastered, and anyone who has seen it will tell you that it’s lackluster (to say the least). Many players are concerned that the Remastered version of the game will not be worth the price tag, and some are just happy to be playing again with a renergized community. Regardless, while we all wait to find out more information, we have put together some community creations of whatDark Souls Remasteredcould look like if done well in the Unreal 4 Engine.
Watching these videos you’ll see just how beautiful the game could be if done well in Unreal 4. UnfortunatelyDark Soulsdoes not use this engine, so unless they changed it, it’ll most likely look a bit different. We take no credit for these creations, we simply stumbled upon them and wanted to share them with you. Please feel free to comment on these channels and give these people the rep they deserve!
First up is Firelink Shrine byTrebla Freeman. He actually made an update video showing further improvements he has made on his work, but you can see from what he has done so far that this already looks better than what we’ve seen by Nintendo.
Next on our list is Sen’s Fortress byMichael Aamold. He changed it a bit and set the fortress in the autumn to give it a bit more color with the leaves changing and falling. He hasn’t quite added all the textures here, but it already looks terrific!
The last rendition is located inside the throne room of Anor Londo where you fight Smough and Ornstein byAlex W. You can see how gorgeous it looks and the fantastic use of lighting works wonders here. If the remaster looks like this, that would be epic!
The last one is a bonus, which is Stonefang Tunnel Archstone from Demon’s Souls bySiriusTexra. While it doesn’t show a whole lot, you can’t help but wonder whatDemon’s Soulswould look like in the Unreal 4 Engine…amazing!
Dark Souls Remastered is a little over a month away now, and we really hope the visuals will look as good or not better than some of these builds we’ve seen here. We’re hopeful that From Software and Bandai Namco will pull through and that what we saw on the Switch is not what we will get on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Stay tuned from more Dark Souls Remastered content!
