Darkest Dungeon 2 Sets to Leave Early Access May 8th
The roguelike sequel Darkest Dungeon 2 is leaving early access on May 8th.
The combat system for the sequel will have a significant tune-up mechanically but will remain consistent with the first title. Players will meet their flawed heroes, who all have their quirks and stressors. This will affect how they play, including some maddening surprises. In a party of four heroes, you will be pitted against roguelike five-hour runs which include ominous mountains. These shorter runs will be designed to be a little less intimidating than the first, which had longer 40-plus hour campaigns.
The demo features four starting heroes, as you explore a whole region, with the Sprawl which is a city or Foeter a farm to encounter. In this second title players will venture through Lovecraftian dungeons much like in the first game. In turn-basedcombattake on a range of enemies. However, it will be a balancing act of managing your party’s weaknesses and strengths. A new feature called theAffinity Systemaffects the links between each of your party members. The emotional state of oneherocan impact the relationship that they share with others in the group.
