Darksiders 3: Pride Boss Guide (Apocalyptic)
In thisDarksiders III Pride Boss Guide, we take a look at the final of the 7 Deadly Sins: Pride. We’ll go over the exact mechanics and give you some helpful tips to beat her without much of a fuss. This Boss can be quite challenging on Apocalyptic Difficulty, but our advice should help you take her down!
Pride will be the final Deadly Sin that must be defeated inDarksiders 3before facing off with the last boss. She is found in Aries which is a short teleport from South End in Haven. She is nimble, strong, and possess a mechanic to impede your progress. Don’t fret as I’ll teach you how to enter God Mode.
Pride will start the match by staking her sword into the ground, simultaneously creating a blue AOE and a shield. Players can break the shield with arcane counters or with weapon combos/charge attacks. I personally use Chain Cycle into a normal or flame counter to break the shield. Once broken I switch to Storm Hollow to unleash the Storm Wrath attack and proceed with another Chain Cycle combo.
Pride’s windup horizontal slash comes from the left and can be easily dodged towards the left. Pride may evoke her 360 degree spinning sword attack, players should counter this attack by veering left with a dodge. It may be follow up with a vertical sword swing. Pride’s sword attack also comes from the left side, she will then follow up with another sword attack from the right side.
Once players have taken about 35% of Pride’s Health away, she will call to support her a rotating statue that perpetually fires a laser. This is where it gets difficult as players must avoid the laser, break Pride’s shield, and damage Pride in a small window.
Pride will now add some new attacks to her rotation, this includes the arcane orb blast. She summons 3 orbs that will be directed at Fury, these orbs can be dodged perfectly to set up an arcane counter. When Pride’s life is low, she will fly high into the air and dive bomb Fury. Dodge to either side and prepare to run towards Pride to damage her while shes recovering from her attack.
Pride is graceful in most of her attacks and deadly as the fight progresses. The best way to deal damage will be arcane counters and/or Chain Cycle. Physical attacks can deal great damage once Pride’s shield is popped. The default hollow that must be used is the Flame Hollow for counters, and Stasis Hollow for the wrath attack. If players want to play cautiously, they can use Stasis Hollow for their own shield. For aggressive players use any Hollow you prefer to deal damage.
Saving Havoc mode for the last 10% of life will be helpful. Physical builds will have an easier time with this boss, as for most of the fight physical attacks can be used. In Phase 2 use Stasis shield to counter the lasers or simply jump over them.
