Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.

Well I’m now working on the impression article. I decided to wait for the raid to drop to have everything pretty much tried. Didn’t complete the raid (we got stuck on the final boss and we figured we will wait until next week to try and beat him again). The raid is probably the best raid so far IMO. It doesn’t feel as tedious as some of the previous raids especially the TTK raid.

Having a great time with it so far but I wished they’d release the new raid a week or so after release instead of 3 days after so people can have a chance to level up.

Anyone tackling the raid this weekend?

Remember, you heard the time here first when you reach glory

Sure, I can give it a go when I get the chance which probably would be late tonight (I think I would of tested everything by then to some extent) or sometime tomorrow.

EDIT: Just found out these lovely exotics that were in the database since TTK have finally been added. I want for my Titan:

Can those impressions come in the form of one of your great blog articles?

I’ve gotten to play a little before classes for today. My experience so far has pretty much been JUST the story missions which overall the storyline is short unfortunately like all the other DLC, something I wish Destiny would stop doing. There always feels to be a lack of depth to the DLC, mostly just hey a threat, we need you to go kill it, with little in regards of getting to that point. I will say the ending was neat (I won’t spoil why) yet also feels lackluster. It makes me wonder now what the raid boss will be.

However while the DLC is short Bungie did at least in some way compensate in the form of the Rise of Iron book which gives you an assortment of tasks to complete like the year 2 challenge book. It has levels which unlock a bunch of stuff, the best probably being the Rise of Iron set we’ve seen in trailers (each class has a set, but what I mean by we’ve seen it, is that it’s the set of armor that the titan wore with the wolf heads and being on fire). This will probably keep players busy no doubt, being a completionist like I am I know it will keep me busy even if I hate the crucible (yes some of them require the ever lovely crucible).

I’ll give more impressions down the line. I’m curious what two of the new exotics are since in the book there are four ROI exotic questlines. Two we know which is the the g-horn and the other the exotic variant of the first gun in the game (I’m not going to try and spell that). I also still need to try the Archon Forge still, no doubt where I will spend a lot of my time now like I did in TTK with the Court of Oryx.
