Destiny’s Iron Banner Begins Today
As mentioned in theDestiny Year End Update, today marks the return of theIron Bannerand the end of theSparrow Racing League eventwhich ran for the last 3 weeks. Destiny developer Bungie launches the competive Iron Banner play mode right on the heels of the racing event, in an effort to keep an ongoing rotation of fresh activities for players. New activities means new loot and what Destiny fan could argue with that? Here are the changes to Iron Banner for this go around:
The game mode for this period will beControland playing the mode will give players the opportunity to earn some neat looking endgamegear. Some will be available for purchase from Lord Saladin, and some will be available as loot drops during gameplay. Here’s a preview of the new gear coming:

The Iron Banner battles will rage on for the week and bring us into the new year, where Bungie will begin the event rotations anew. There are undoubtedly some brand new events in the works, seasonal activities and we should see the return of some old standbys with the usual gameplay tweaks. There has been no word on any major expansion plans for the coming year, so it’s entirely possible we may see an events only model for the new year.
