Diablo 4 Becomes Blizzard’s “Fastest Selling” Game To Date
Activision Blizzard announces Diablo 4 has now become the fastest-selling title in their catalogue of games.
Reaching new heights,Diablo 4is now Blizzard’s “fastest-selling” title of all time. A recent press release shared staggering numbers such as how the game has incurred over 93 million hours of combined player game time in just four days of early access. Putting that into perspective that attributes to over 10,000 years. That would be the same as playing theAction-RPG24 hours straight since the time human civilisation began. Not bad for a title that has demons such asLilithrunning the show.
Blizzard hasn’t revealed the exact numbers. However, if you compare it to previous rapidly selling titles such as World of Warcraft: Shadowlands which managed to sell 3.7 million within 24 hours of launch, Diablo 4 has done even better. It marks the highest number of pre-launch units sold over both consoles and PC.
Diablo 4 has been officially released since June 6th, when all players could finally start the grind to 100 to have their names immortalised if they are the first 1000 players playing onHardcore Mode. Hardcore Mode for those unfamiliar is exactly what it sounds like. If your character dies, they’re out for good and cannot resurrect. But surely the risk doesn’t outweigh the reward of having your name engraved for all eternity on a statue of Lilith? One of the first to have complete this challenge has already been added.
But dying in Diablo 4 does come with some perks. Blizz has definitely not skimped on the marketing budget as you can also submit one of your epic deaths for a chance to have your eulogy read by Megan Fox.
