Diablo 4 Respeccing Won’t Be ‘Prohibitively Expensive’ According to Devs

A recent tweet by Blizzard has shared that respeccing high-level characters in Diablo 4 won’t be super expensive.

If you were wondering if it will be costly for you to respec your high-level character in Diablo 4, according to a recent tweet, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson shared that it won’t be “prohibitively expensive” when responding to tweets about respeccing characters. When a fan of the game asked whether it will be easier to redistributeSkillpoints compared to the open beta, Fergusson explains that you will be able to refund not just a skill point but an “entire tree at once” if you need to.

It’s not prohibitively expensive and we’ve made it easier by being able to refund a single skill point or the entire tree at once.

Being able to reassign skills or ability points in games such as ARPGs especially when you’ve already invested a number of them can be costly to redo. Diablo 4 will rely heavily onBuilds, and changing up points according to the latest meta might be something you want to do. Or even running alevelingbuild before putting in your preferred endgame build or having aPvPspecific build. While early game to respec doesn’t cost much, as your character levels get higher, it could cost you more.

Despite knowing it won’t prohibit you from changing up your skills later on, Fergusson did previously recommend in an interview with IGN, it might be better for players to have a new separate character instead. The idea behind this, is that they want players to feel “attached” to their characters’ build, so starting a new character might be a better alternative.

…we wanted that, that notion that with each level you progress down a character, you’re becoming more and more attached to it, and getting more and more settled with it.

Since the beta, the development team has been taking feedback from players and their experience with the Diablo 4 beta. This means we may be seeing some more changes, and differences compared to the beta. The game’s beta went off with a bang, while having the expected kinks to work out such as server stability with the influx of demon slayers. Blizzard assures that the full launch won’t be plagued with the same service issues. The title smashed through some interesting stats including becoming thebiggest betathe developer has had for the entire franchise.
