Diablo IV Open Beta: Everything You Need to Know!
Diablo IV is nearing its open beta in a couple of weeks. Here’s everything you need to know to lay waste to the minions of hell.
The gates of Sanctuary will open once again in just a few weeks’ time. Blizzard will releasetwo beta periodsfor fans of the highly acclaimed ARPG franchise. The first is on the weekend of March 17 at 9 AM PST to March 19 at 12 PM PST, and will only be available to those who’vepreordered the game. The second Diablo IV beta will be open to all and will run from March 24, 9 AM PST through March 26, 12 PM PST.
Of course, there will be some limitations in order to keep too many heroes of Sanctuary flooding and decimating the legions of hell. Here’s all you need to know for the Diablo IV Closed and Open Beta periods.
As we all know, there will be a total of 5 returningclassesin Diablo IV’s Launch. However, it has been confirmed that during the Early Access Beta on the 17th, only theBarbarian,Rogue, andSorcererwill be available. Though it is good to hear that the Open Beta on the 24th will then includes both theDruidandNecromancer.
Each character can level up to a maximum of 25 in the Diablo IV open beta. Players can have up to 10 characters in their roster if they decide for some reason to have duplicates of each class. Any hero created during the Early Access Beta will carry over to the Open Beta. As expected though, all beta characters will be deleted once March 26 rolls around.
In terms of actual content, players will get to play the first few bits of the Diablo IVcampaign. Specifically, we can run around the game’s Prologue and entire Act I. This will primarily take place in the first majorzone, theFractured Peaks. Just as seen in the trailers, this will include a shared open world, instanced dungeons, as well as monolithic and screen-grabbingworld bosses.
To entice players to partake in the Diablo IV betas, despite knowing that their precious characters will eventually meet their untimely demises, Blizzard is offering a few goodies. Players who reach the first act’s main city hub, Kyovashad will get the “Initial Casualty” title, while those who get to level 20 will obtain the “Early Voyager” title. These players also get the “Beta Wolf Pack” cosmetic item which is just the cutest little wolf pup in a bundle that you can carry on your back. We must protect the wolf!
Players on the Xbox or PlayStation consoles will be able to experience couch-coop with a friend or significant other. Just like Diablo III’s console experience, two players can share one console and battle the demons of hell. Only one person will need access to the Early Access beta for two people to play, but they will both need to have Battle.net accounts.
Otherwise, we can look forward to slaying abominations in a group of up to 4 adventurers inonline play.
On the PC side of things, the Diablo IV team has also shared the minimum and recommended hardware to run the game.
In order to barely run the game, you will need to have a computer with the following specs:
The Blizzard recommended settings to get the best experience is also quite surprisingly low. Though they did not mention what specific resolution or framerate this will target. Recommended hardware is as follows:
Heroes with slightly deeper pockets than most still have options to spend more of their cash. Still available on the Blizzard Gear store are the Diablo IV Limited Collector’s Box, a massive Inarius statue, and a preorder for a statue of the big bad herself,Lilith.
The $96 Collector’s Box is purely a set of physical items: no Diablo IV game included. However, you do get an electric candle, a demonic mousepad, a cloth map of Sanctuary, an art book, and some other fine prints.
Next is the massive 26-inch high premium statue of the Archangel Inarius. This humongous collectible weighs in at 19 lbs, is hand-painted, and looks amazingly detailed. It will set you back about $1,100.
The last is the Lilith statue. While much smaller at 24 inches in height, she is still a massive sight to behold. Just like the Inarius statue, Lilith’s visage is hand-painted and expertly sculpted.
