Doom: The Dark Ages Would Include A Tweak For The “Glory Kills”
Metal, hell, blood, and brutal executions with unique weapons are returning after Doom and Doom Eternal, but the veteran shooter team is preparing a few new features and quite a few changes.
A new report has emerged with alleged details following Quakecon that would reveal some of those improvements and mechanics that Doom: The Dark Ages will feature.
The one that has stood out the most among fans of the series is that id Software might introduce a system allowing the player to choose which “Glory Kill” to perform when it comes to brutally executing an enemy.
The previous two modern-era Doom games delivered some truly impactful executions, but their gore-filled animations were performed at random, without the player being able to choose which one to do.
As for other details mentioned, it’s noted that the jump will be much more powerful and higher, even though the game will be less vertical. The world will present new interactions and more intricate scenarios, and there will be up to three melee weapons.
It’s important to note that this is just a report, and it remains to be seen what id Software, Bethesda, and Zenimax officially reveal in upcoming teasers.
