Dragon Age The Veilguard Will Not Include One of The Most Beloved Classes
Dragon Age: The Veilguardwill not have the Blood MageClass, the new installment of this saga will not feature an iconic class because the game’s narrative designer believes it”doesn’t fit”with the morality of the heroes.
The fourth installment ofDragon Agemarks a significant change from the previous games in the RPG franchise. At first glance, fans believe it will be closer to the”action-RPG”concept ofDragon Age II, rather than the first and third games.
Dragon Age: The Veilguardis an action role-playing game starring Rook, a hero we can customize to our liking in terms of design, class, skills, and background. In the adventure, Rook is accompanied by seven characters, who can interact with each other and will have a greater impact (we can even edit them) than we are used to.
Only Rook and his seven companions can save Thedas from destruction after an experiment conducted by the elven god Solas unleashes chaos upon the region. Hordes of demons and nightmare creatures will attempt to dominate our world.
The developers at Bioware have delved into aspects of Dragon Age: The Veilguard such asflirting and romances, the fun combat system, and the character skill tree.
In an interview with Patrick ‘Trick’ Weekes (via GamesRadar), the game’s writer and narrative designer confirmed that one of the saga’s most beloved classes will NOT be in The Veilguard.
One of the concepts most deeply related to morality (or karma) is blood magic. It is a recurring element in fantasy, and Dragon Age is no exception.
Unlike using mana to cast spells, blood magic requires sacrificing ”health” from our character or other beings to cast spells. In previous Dragon Age games, there was a ”Blood Mage” class to specialize in these magical attacks.
Patrick Weekes has confirmed that we will NOT see blood magic elements in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The reason is that it is not fitting for the heroes who star in the adventure.
”Blood magic is unlikely because we have moved from being a power boost to being really the key to many unpleasant things that we are not interested in having the heroes do. Those other things just need the right game.”
While using your own blood may be ”neutral” from a moral standpoint, Bioware has opted to move away from blood magic because it did not align with the focus of The Veilguard.”
