The anticipated survival MMO developed by Funcom,Dune: Awakening, is gearing up for its first gameplay showcase on March 4th.
Dune Awakening: Direct is scheduled for March 4th at 18:00 CET / 12:00 ET / 09:00 PT, and will be broadcast on the company’s official YouTube channel.
During the Dune: Awakening Direct, gameplay of the game will be revealed for the first time through a trailer. Previous information was limited to short trailer which mainly included cinematics and engine videos. Additionally, a video titled “Creating Worlds, from Book to Film to Game” will be presented, exploring the game development process.
This game promises to take players directly to the ruthless sands of Arrakis, the most dangerous planet in the universe, allowing them to build their homes in the middle of the desert.
Funcom emphasizes that Dune: Awakening is, above all, a survival game. Players must stay alert to seize opportunities to collect water, seek shelter from the sun, and gather spice, the most valuable substance in the universe, in a server shared by thousands of players.

The correspondence with the release of the movie Dune 2 will obviously play in favor of this new survival game by Funcom, but it remains a very interesting project, so it’s worth following the event.
