However, reports of companies choosing to forgo the event started to emerge this year. First, publisher giantsNintendo, Microsoft and Sonyall reported to be missing the game show in favour of their own press conferences. This was followed by the most recent announcement of Ubisoft, who previously announced they would be part of E3 then chose to have their Ubisoft Forward at theSummer Game Festinstead. With the growing Summer Game Fest which takes place a few days before E3, this meant competition for industry goers.
E3 may return in another way but for now, it looks like the games con will be skipping this year. We still have a lot to look forward to in June, as there are press cons such as thereUbisoft Forwardalready planned. Either way, it seems like an end of an era as E3 has been on the major events for quite some time.
