If you’ve been eager for a more extensive look at Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, the recent trailer certainly delivered. This fresh footage reveals a host of new characters, outlines the main narrative arcs for the trio of heroes, and highlights a variety of side tasks available for players to engage in.

There are three main characters (so far), Nowa, Seign and Marisa. As they journey through Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, as the title suggests they will meet a hundred different heroes that will come across their path. Features in the trailer are characters Hildi, Yuferius VII, and Mio. Levelling up character relationships will unlock further new skills and an array of moves in combat.

Also teased is the War Mode, which acts similarly to Fire Emblem. Players are pitted against different corps on a grid-based battlefield. Each battle will have certain conditions to achieve, determining Victory or Defeat. Player’s strategies will be challenged, as they put their units to the test. Filling out the ranks will strengthen your battalion. Also shown are the unique conversations to be had when facing different adversaries.

Your wins don’t just affect your battles but also the town. Each new ally added will unlock new benefits such as adding facilities. During your downtime between battles you can also take part in mini-games.

There’s cook offs, Beyblade type tournaments, fishing and even a card game which is the cornerstone of any great RPG. You can even take to the races which pits creatures into chocobo-styled racing. Safe to stay there isn’t shortage of things to do.

According to the Kickstarter page, we can expect 7 main characters. The developers behind the game are Yoshitaka Murayama’s (Suikoden I & II) and Junko Kawano (Suikoden I & IV), so there no shortage of talent behind this project. The game is looking gorgeous and can’t wait to check this one out next year.
