FromSoftware has just confirmed the upcoming expansion for Elden Ring called Shadow of the Erdtree.
Talk of an expansion for the Action-RPG Elden Ring has been abuzz for some time. It finally rings loud and true today with FromSoftware confirming the expansionShadow of the Erdtreeis currently in development.
Fans of the game have been waiting bated breath for any inkling of news of an upcomingDLC. Previously a PVP arena-based DLC dropped calledColosseumadding up to 6 player matches. A brand new expansion could mean a further area to explore and expect plenty more lore to hit. As for when the expansion will launch is still unknown as the developer hasn’t given a release date for the upcoming content. Either way, it’s great news for the tarnished who have been wanting more Elden Ring.

What exactly is in the expansion is currently unknown but could potentially have further content such as newweapons,armor,bosses,enemiesand even alocation. None of this is confirmed of course and we’ll have to wait for From to give us the details as we draw closer to its launch. Since the title focuses on the Erdtree’s shadow, it sounds like there is a lot of death in its wake.
The image teased shows a figure riding side-saddle on what looks to beTorrent, our faithful steed companion in the game who was introduced to us byMelina. The blonde hair of the person on horseback also looks awfully familiar. We can also see shadowy gravestones in the field behind the burnt Erdtree.
Elden Ring has just passed its first anniversary since the game’s release. Recently celebrating its first birthday at an event in Stockholm. The one-year mark is great as a time as any to make a big announcement of Erdtree size proportions. This announcement is fantastic news, and we’ll be filling up ourwikiwith all the latest info as it releases.
The game has done tremendously well, with now reachingover 20 million unitssold just a year after its launch of the game.
