Elden Ring Poison and Bleed Build Guide – Venomous Bloodblade

In thisElden Ring Poison and Bleed Build Guide, I’m going to be showing you myVenomous Bloodbladebuild. This is a level 150 version of theBloodbladebuild that incorporates poison elements into it. A lot of people have been asking me for an updated version of theBloodbladebuild, and a lot of people have been asking me for a poison build, so in this build, we’re merging these two concepts to get a build that focuses on bleed, damage, and overall attack rating.

A Quality Build that uses Bleed and Poison to boost Attack Power extremely high while dual-wielding Curved Swords.

We have over 110 Elden Ring builds. Each one is meticulously crafted to offer unique playstyles, strategies, and experiences, ensuring there’s something for every adventurer in the Lands Between. Whether you seek the raw power of heavy weapons, the finesse of spellcasting, or the versatility of hybrid builds, our collection has you covered. Explore the depths of the game’s mechanics and unleash your full potential with our diverse array of builds.

So the two curved swords we use for this build are theScavenger’s Curved Swordand theBandit’s Curved Sword.

TheScavenger’s Curved Swordmight be the bestcurved swordin the game in terms of status effects because it hasbleedingon it natively, but you can only get one of them on your playthrough unless you have someone drop you another one or you go to NG+, so we’re not using two of them here, although that would probably be better for this build in general.

The reason we useBandit’s Curved Swordis because we can’t get a secondScavenger’s Curved Swordeasily and because it has the highest attack rating when you’re setting thebloodaffinity on the weapon, giving it a good amount of damage.

So the setup I like to use is theScavenger’s Curved Swordin my right hand with thePoisonous Mistweapon skill on it set to thepoisonaffinity. This gives it both blood and poison build-up, and it gives you an ability that can set poison rather quickly, which is going to boost your attack rating because of some of the talismans and the headpiece that we’re wearing. In the left hand, we have theBandit’s Curved SwordwithSeppukuon it in order to give it thebleedingaffinity and also to give it a buff that increases its bleed build-up as well as its attack power.

If you are familiar with theBloodbladebuild, then you’ll know that the general strategy withCurved Swords, if you’re trying to build up status effects, is to do running L1s and jumping L1s. This is because the weapons hit twice each really, really quickly, allowing you to proc status effects fast, and that’s exactly what we want to go for here when we’re running around on the landscape or attacking bosses.

When I’m exploring, I usually don’t useSeppukuorPoisonous Mist; I focus on raw damage. Although this build features status effects, their main role is to boost attack power through talismans and headgear, maximizing damage from regular attacks. The status effects likeHemorrhageand poison are a bonus, but the primary goal is to increase your attack power.

Status effects can trigger useful additional damage, but the core aim is to boost the impact of each L1 attack. This way, even if you aren’t actively using status effects, you’re still benefiting from their indirect damage bonuses. This allows you to concentrate on high damage output while still having the potential for status-based damage when it happens.

For this build, I use theMushroom Crownas the headpiece. It grants a 10% attack power boost when you or your enemies are afflicted withPoisonorScarlet Rot, which happens frequently in this build. You could also choose theWhite Mask, which is triggered by bleeding, offering a reliable boost withSeppuku. Both options work; it’s a matter of preference.

The build requires good endurance for stamina, as dual-wielding and quick L1 attacks deplete stamina fast. This allows you to wear heavier armor, which is helpful since you’ll be trading blows often. Just ensure you stay within the medium roll range to maintain agility. This combination of endurance and armor is key for the aggressive playstyle of this build.

The talismans I use for this Poison and Bleed build areRotten Winged Sword Insignia,Millicent’s Prosthesis,Kindred of Rot’s Exultation, andLord of Blood’s Exultation.

Rotten Winged Sword InsigniaandMillicent’s Prosthesisboth increase attack power as you rapidly strike. This works well with curved swords, especially when dual-wielding, as you attack quickly, building up the attack power with each hit. Stacking both talismans can lead to a significant boost in damage, particularly when combined withKindred of Rot’s ExultationandLord of Blood’s Exultation.

Lord of Blood’s ExultationandKindred of Rot’s Exultationprovide a 20% attack power boost when you triggerHemorrhage(bleeding) orPoison/Scarlet Rot.Seppukucan triggerLord of Blood’s Exultationon yourself, allowing you to boost your attack power without hitting an enemy.Poisonis easier to set on enemies, but you can also trigger it on yourself with consumables likeRaw Meat Dumpling, activating the bonus fromKindred of Rot’s Exultationand theMushroom Crown. This is useful in fights where enemies are immune to blood loss or poison—you can still boost your attack power by poisoning yourself.

TheRaw Meat Dumplinginstantly poisons you, triggering a 30% attack power boost from theMushroom Crownand the bonus fromKindred of Rot’s Exultation. This allows you to maintain high attack power even if you can’t trigger status effects on your enemies. Despite its limitations, this build can achieve attack ratings of up to 1200 with each weapon when fully buffed, delivering immense damage.

This setup is unique because it can leverage all four talismans that boost attack power. To maximize this build, you need to attack quickly to gain theRotten Winged Sword InsigniaandMillicent’s Prosthesisboosts while also triggeringPoisonandBleedingto activateKindred of Rot’s ExultationandLord of Blood’s Exultation. It’s a challenging build to set up but can result in extremely high damage output.

The stats I use for this Poison and Bleed build are 50Vigor, 20Mind, 32Endurance, 50Strength, 50Dexterity, 9Intelligence, 14Faith, and 9Arcane.

I opt for 50Vigorbecause you’ll be spamming L1 attacks, which often leads to taking damage. With this build, it’s okay to take a few hits as long as you win the fight. HighVigorensures you can survive trading blows while still triggeringHemorrhageand dealing significant damage.

20Mindprovides enough FP to useSeppukuandPoisonous Mistregularly, but this build doesn’t rely heavily on FP. You’ll mainly focus on running L1s, jumping L1s, and other dual-wielding attacks, minimizing the use of weapon abilities that usually rely on the main-hand weapon.

32Enduranceoffers enough Stamina for this build since rapid L1 attacks drain Stamina quickly. This also allows for decent armor to help you survive when trading damage.

The 50Strengthand 50Dexterityboost weapon damage, as both weapons in this build have C scaling in these stats. Investing inStrengthandDexterityprovides better damage returns than focusing onArcane, which would give only a slight increase inPoisonandBleedingbuildup, but significantly lower overall damage output.

You don’t needIntelligencefor this build, and 14Faithis included because the starting class wasConfessor. You could add one more point inFaithto useFlame, Grant Me Strength, which increases your physical damage by 20%, further boosting your attack power.

With this setup, you can get over 1400 attack rating with both weapons when fully buffed. While focusing onPoisonandBleedingbuildup has some merit, maximizing yourStrengthandDexterityleads to higher overall damage, making this a potent and effective build.

A couple of final tips before I wrap up this guide: Prioritize running L1 and jumping L1 attacks. These hit with four simultaneous strikes, which helps trigger status effects quickly. When facing a difficult enemy, lead withPoisonous Mist. Although it has a longer windup, it can often set thePoisonstatus effect immediately.

You might need to start casting it early to ensure the enemy walks into the mist, even if you miss the initial swing. This boosts your attack power by 30% before you even land a hit, providing a significant advantage in tough fights, as long as the enemy can bepoisoned.

For theFlask of Wondrous Physick, I recommend using theThorny Cracked Tear, which boosts damage with successive attacks. This fits well with the build’s focus on rapid attacks to increase damage output. Additionally, the Greenburst Crystal Tear, which enhances stamina regeneration, is highly beneficial.

Since this build doesn’t use theGreen Turtle Talisman(as it’s more damage-focused), the extra stamina regeneration is crucial, especially during boss fights or challenging encounters. The increased stamina recovery helps keep your attacks and dodges consistent, providing theenduranceneeded for prolonged battles. These are solid options for maximizing this build’s efficiency.
