Elder Scrolls Online DLC Scribes of Fate is Available Now on PC
Elder Scrolls Online’s latest DLC, Scribes of Fate arrives now on PC alongside Update 37. This expansion is a prelude to the Shadows Over Morrowind story arc.
The Scribes of Fate DLChas finally arrived for PC and Mac players this March 13. It will release later on for consoles, on March 28 specifically. The main hook of thisDLCis that it will be the prologue for the MMO’s next year-long story, The Shadow Over Morrowind.
We’re definitely entering Lovecraftian territory here, as the main antagonist of the story arc will be Hermaus Mora. The Daedric Prince of Knowledge has themes and looks that are very Eldritch in nature. In fact, “Shadow Over Morrowind” is definitely a play on H.P. Lovecraft’s short story “Shadow Over Innsmouth”.
Elder Scrolls Online will be getting two new PVE dungeons in the Scribes of Fate DLC Pack. Both of which will have unique stories attached to these adventures that lead into the greater Necrom story in June.
The Scribes of Fate DLC can be purchased separately for 1500Crownsin theCrown Store. Alternatively, a Collector’s Bundle can be bought for 4000 Crowns. This will include new mounts, pets, and even Crown Experience Scrolls. As always, the DLC will be accessible freely to anyone who’s currently subscribed toESO Plus.
Our first destination will beBal Sunnar, deep within one of the Great House Telvanni settlements. Mysterious magic has started gathering at Bal Sunnar, and the Psijic Order has tasked the players with investigating this unnatural phenomenon.
House Telvanni has a deep distrust for those outside of their Great House, let alone outsiders from different continents. The local members are thus deeply entrenched here in Bal Sunnar, and ready to defend their secrets to the grave.
It appears that the anomalies have some influence on Temporal Magic, the magic of time. Thus, it looks like there will be tons of time-related troubles and challenges the players must overcome. Those who ascend triumphantly will be rewarded withnew armor sets, like TheNix-Hound’s Howl. This is a unique set that steals Weapon and Spell damage from enemies.
The next dungeon in the Elder Scrolls OnlineDLCis calledScrivener’s Hall. It features the passive cult called Scribes of Mora. Though they have aligned themselves with the Daedric Prince of Knowledge, this organization is more on gleaming knowledge than creating strife. They primarily seek and document knowledge of all forms, much like in theFextralife ESO Wiki.
However, this peace is fragile, as a new leader has usurped control and has led the Scribes down a dark and dangerous path. New character Keshargo enlists the players’ aid in order to wrestle back control from the new leader, Valinna, and restore his order to its original path.
Since the Scribes of Mora are heavily connected to Hermaeus Mora, they have an even greater connection to theNecrom Chapterthan those of the Telvanni Wizards. As such, players will get to experience first-hand the wrath of the newArcanist, as many of the Scribes’ numbers will make use of this class’ skills.
Players seeking Knowledge and Truth will get unique rewards out of Scrivener’s Hall. One such boon is the new Light Armor set,Runecarver’s Blaze. This DPS set makes it so that your damage-over-time spells will deal an additional bit of fire damage every few ticks.
Alongside The Scribes of Fate DLC is Elder Scrolls Online’s Patch 37. As usual, we will get tons of balance changes and other minor fixes with the arrival of this new update. One of the bigger additions is the introduction of Screen Narration. This accessibility feature will help players better understand the game’s menus. There will be a choice of two voice types, over 6 languages, including English, French, and Spanish.
Fashion Hunters will also get a minor upgrade in this patch. Starting now, players can purchase a new cosmetic called “Hide Shoulders” using Event Tickets at the Impresario vendor. Essentially, equipping Hide Shoulders will display an invisible shoulder piece on your character, essentially hiding that part and showing purely just your chestarmorunderneath.
Those lucky enough to own a roof over their heads will also welcome the new Housing Improvements. Elder Scrolls Online’s Update 37 will bring along some QoL for those who enjoy the game’shousing system. Players can explore new filters, reset their training dummies, and even see all of a home’sfurnishingsbefore they actually buy it.
