A new class was announced which is fantastic news since the lastclassto be released was theNecromancerwhich arrived alongside the Elsweyr expansion. The new classArcanistwill introduce three new skill lines to ESO, Tome, Curative Runeforms and Apocryphal Soldier.

These are inspired by Oblivion which taps into dealing damage, supporting allies and being able to “absorb punishment”. The last one sounds like being able to soak some damage. The Arcanist can call upon Runeblades, projectiles that use Oblivion to attack your foes. The healer/support uses Curative Runes which can heal your party, shield them or portal Apocryphal Gate will summon a portal that will help those in your party gain some mobility. This could be useful inTrialsor evenDungeonsto get out of dodge when needed.

The Arcanist relies on a new Crux system, a resource that will empower its abilities. You can generate Crux before spending it, with a maximum of three. The more you generate, the more empowered it becomes. When it is spent, and how will determine its effectiveness in your rotation.

Apocryphal Solider– Defensive abilities to help buff your party and summon an explosive damage shield called Runespite Ward which can be strengthened using Crux

Herald of Tome– Damage dealing abilities such as Runeblades landing damaging dealing projectiles with arcane energy.

Curative Runeforms– Support/Heal abilities to restore your party and use the Apocryphal Gate to port them.

The chapter will introduce news zones located on the eastern side of the mainland of Morrowind. Telvanni Peninsula is where mystical mages of the House Telvanni dwell. This is the first time since The Elder Scrolls: Arena that players will be able to explore the streets of the Dark Elf’s spiritual center.

With the addition of the chapter is the reveal of the Apocrypha, Hermaeus Mora’s realm of Oblivion. Here you can venture into the depths of the Daedric Prince of Knowledge’s world, full of mind-bending wonders of the Endless Library and peculiar locations, but do you dare?

These two new zones will contain new quests, NPCs to meet, challenges to best and an all-new world event to take part in. Previous chapters of ESO have introduced world events with the last being the Volcanic Vents in High Isle. We could be gaining something similar to the Gates of Oblivion content Blackwood with Oblivion Portals, but maybe take us somewhere different. There will also be the usual new delves, public dungeons, world bosses, a new Trial and more to discover.

Something seems to be looming from the shadows, as the tale begins with theScribes of Fate DLC. This year’s theme is the Shadow Over Morrowind. The new threat this season who’s casting their threat over the Hermaeus Mora, a realm of Oblivion. The Prince of Knowledge needs someone to defend the kept secret that if revealed will tip the scales of reality.

As usual, this year will follow a year-long theme, Shadow Over Morrowind. While content will feature standalone stories, they are all part of a bigger picture.

One of ESO’s latest additions has been theCompanionssystem. Each expansion has so far introduced two new companions to join you in your adventures. These AI buddies are useful especially for tackling more challenging content on your own or to help round out a group like in dungeons. Necrom will be no different as the Argonian Warden called Sharp-As-Night and the Redguard Arcanist called Azander aid the call. They will be recruited by taking on their specific quest.
