Elex Launches This October on PS4, Xbox One and PC

THQ Nordic and Piranha Bytes have announced thatElex, their upcoming science-fantasy open world RPG will release for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 17th. Check out the cinematic trailer they’ve released with the announcement:

In Elex, you join the war over a powerful resource that gives people great magic-like powers, but turns them into indifferent cold creatures. You decide if emotions and humaneness or cold synthetic logic will rule the world of Magalan.

The game will feature seamless open world gameplay which lets you explore freely, even vertically via your jetpack. You will take on highly interconnectedquestsand encounterNPCsandFactionsthat will all react to the choices you make creating a dynamically changing game world.

A Collector’s Edition for Elex will be available which includes a 10-inch-high figurine of an Alb Mage, a 2-inch amulet in the form of a combat drone, a cloth map showing the world of Magalan, the original score on CD plus an artbook.

We’re going to see this again this year at E3. Will report our impressions afterwards. I’m not sold so far based on what we’ve seen, but I’m hoping their showing there will convince me.

I’ll still try it if it’s not too costly. Probably start with the Berserker (love primal, tribal cultures), then try the outcasts later. I’m not a fan of the deeply religious and robotic elitist groups.
