Emberstoria Is The New Strategy Game From Square Enix
Square Enixreturns to the strategy genre withEmberstoria, a free-to-play game that will take us beyond the skies, launching in November for PC and mobile devices.
Equally significant wasFinal Fantasy Tacticsin 1997, developed for the original PlayStation under the direction of the brilliantYasumi Matsuno, which later led to two sequels for the Game Boy Advance and a PSP port, with rumors of a remaster in the near future.Now the company returns to this genre with a brand-new title that comes with a double surprise: its release is imminent, and it will be completely free.
On November 29,Emberstoria, a free-to-play strategy game, will arrive on PC and Android/iOS mobile devices (for now only in the Japanese market). The game takes place inPurgatory, where monsters guard ancient knowledge.In this new story, humanity crosses the skies with massive ships and floating cities while reviving the souls of fierce warriors who fell in the depths of Purgatory.InEmberstoria, the key will be to analyze the environment, join forces with allies, and embark on the conquest of the tower in the center of Purgatory, though you’ll need to defeat various beasts along the way.At your side will be theEmbers, warriors rescued from hell that you can train. Thanks to materials gathered from the beasts, new weapons and armor will also be forged for these fighters.
As important as fighting will be creating your ownAnima Arca, a city in the sky that you can design to your liking, with construction that includes resource management, research, and training.As expected fromSquare Enix, the game’s story will revolve around changing fate, with animated sequences and a cast of 40 voice actors.The game’s team includes major talents likeYusuke Kozaki, responsible for character designs and known for working on titles likeFire Emblem AwakeningandFire Emblem If.He’s joined by composerMasashi Hamauzu, known forFinal Fantasy XIIIandSaGa Frontier 2, andBenny Matsuyama, who leads scenario designs and has worked onSaGa Frontier RemasteredandImperial SaGa.There’s currently no announcement about a potentialEmberstoriarelease on consoles, but it’s possible the game could follow the path ofFantasian: Neo Dimension, which was originally released on Apple Arcade and will be coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC this December.
