Everything You Must Know About Final Fantasy VII

The story of Final Fantasy VII is a fairly straightforward monomyth (hero’s journey), at least at face value. Our hero Cloud Strife starts off self-centered and uncaring but after spending time with friends he slowly becomes more empathetic. His crowning achievement is twofold:

Never in gaming has there been a better presentation of the metaphorical (and in this case literal) story of “finding oneself.”

Final Fantasy VII also features some of the most iconic heroes, villains and hairstyles in classic video game history. By the end of the game, you will know purple jumpsuits are cool.
