Fable the fantasy RPG reboot gets a brand-new trailer featuring larger-than-life Richard Ayoade.
As suspected from thenot-so-subtle teasefrom Microsoft themselves, the Xbox Game Showcase did not disappoint when it came to Fable. A brand new trailer was unveiled featuring the comedic styling of The IT Crowd’s Richard Ayoade. The comedian narrates the trailer featuring plenty of laughs and typical Fable humour.
Ayoade, a “Vegetable Enthusiast” (what does that even mean?) talks about the bygone era of heroes and adventurers. Well, it doesn’t seem like it’s over just yet. We get a montage of a character getting into brawls, and getting into some semi-harmless fun at the tavern. But interestingly enough we see them wield fireballs with their hand as well as a quick peek at some sword combat. According to the video, this is all in-game footage.
It turns out our narrator is none other than a giant who is at odds with our protagonist. It ends with a sandwich, because why not? As this is not a gameplay trailer, we don’t get to see any exploration but it does give a general look at the title’s tongue-in-cheek sense of humour and storytelling. The visuals are stunning, with fantasy-overgrown pumpkins and mythical creatures.
Unfortunately, no release date was given for Fable this time around. But we can’t wait to see more.
