Fallout 4 Update 1.5 Detailed

Update 1.5 forFallout 4is now in Beta on PC and with it comes to the much anticipated and revampedSurvival Difficulty. Check out the update notes as posted onBethesda’s Forums:

New Features

Please Note:Survival difficulty characters are not backward compatible with the 1.4 version of Fallout 4. If you opt out of the Beta, do not use Survival character saved games.

Fixes

Snoopers also discovered a bevy of newSettlementsitems in the update, but as these are not listed in the official notes, it’s probably safe to say these are content part of the upcomingFar Harbor DLC.

Normally these beta updates are around for a week or so before being finalized and implemented on PC, with consoles receiving the update soon after that. So it’s looking like we are all going to be getting a crack at theDark Soulsinspired Survival setting sometime around the end of April or beginning of May. Doesn’t need to be. But a slider would be nice, wouldn’t it?

I’m not looking for something that extreme, but I am hoping for an official ‘fix’ for higher levels where both me, my companions and high tier enemies turn into bullet sponges. I don’t want to have to exploit the explosive ammo+ demolition perk combo to make things less tedious and with that being completely in my favour.

I remember I once was playing NV and found a mod which let me set a global damage multiplier with a slider. I set it to ten. Kill everything in one hit, die in one hit, melee is unviable, stealth is necessary. Good times.

There’s some good fixes in there, especially the damn light-bulbs.

I wish some of the Survival difficulty options (specifically the damage calculation) were available to other difficulties.
