Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Workshop Worldwide Release
The latest DLC for Bethesda’sFallout 4,Vault-Tec Workshopreleases worldwide at the stroke of 12 midnight GMT, meaning US players will be able to spend their Monday evenings tinkering to their hearts’ content. In Vault-Tec Workshop, players will be able to build their own vaults using the workshop build mode to customize their subterranean dwelling to their tastes. Once built, players can run various experiments on dwellers, as vaults were originally designed for.
If you’re above level 20, you’ll hear a distress beaconno matter where you are in the world, alerting you to an emergency situation at Vault 88. Those under level 20 can still access it, but thecontent is scaled for level 35. You will have to make their way into the vault, taking out raiders and ghouls who have overrun the area. You will then meet the Overseer, the only surviving resident of Vault 88, who has been trapped down here alone and has turned into a ghoul. The bombs went off before her Vault could be completed and she has spent the last 200 years waiting to build it. She remains loyal to the Vault-Tec mission and is eager to run some experiments on subjects.
From here the content can be accessed as you wish. You may continue the short storyline with the Overseer of Vault 88 by completing severalquests. You will be interviewing potential new vault dwellers and once you have a collection of dwellers, you will be tasked with running experiments on them. The decisions you make during these experiments will affect their outcomes.Anything made during the experiment will be permanently added to your workshopfor use in your building designs both in the vault and all of your otherSettlements, so you can even attempt to build a vault above ground. You may opt to bypass these quests however and get right to building.
Once underway players will be able to scrap and reuse items in the abandoned vault to construct its various elements, further expanding their reach into the subterranean vault. All the essential rooms like diners and nurseries are available as well as options to construct stairs and hallways to build an elaborate network for your vault dwellers. Included are many new items for decorative use, as the Vault was ready to be built before the bombs dropped. New settlement items will alsoallow you to change your hair and facial appearance(not ofNPCshowever). The vault itself features a large reactor which can power a large adjoining area.
Additionally,a terminal inside the vault gives players access to managing their settlers directly, which allevaites the need to run around from person to person to keep order. Settlers can also be mobilized to generate power via a network of exercise bikes. Theterminal can also be used to track down your waywardCompanions, so if you’ve misplacedDogmeat, prepare to be reunited!
Vault-Tec Workshop is a focused expansion to the Settlement building element of the game and gives players some new toys and options to work with. The proper expansionNuka-Worldis set to release in August and will be the last piece of DLC for the game. Thoughts on the new DLC?
