Fallout 4’s First 3 DLCs Announced

Bethesda has revealed today the first set ofDLCplans for Fallout 4  including their pricing and release dates. Let’s take a look at the first 3 DLC packs they have lined up for us over the next few months, respectively titled Automatron, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor.

The mysteriousMechanisthas unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the deviousRobobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions. Choose from hundreds ofMods; mixingLimbs,Armor,Abilities, andWeaponslike the all-newLightning Chain Gun. Even customize theirPaint Schemesand choose theirVoices!

With the Wasteland Workshop, design and set cages to capture live creatures – fromRaiderstoDeathclaws! Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for yourSettlementslike nixie tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy and more!

A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island ofFar Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with newfactionquests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-levelarmorandweapons. The choices are all yours.

There seems to be a mix of content here with the first two releases being additional features to the base game whereas Far Harbor is a full fledged expansion with a whole new area to explore. There certainly is enough variety here to make things interesting, and building your own bots or starting a fight pit of creatures sounds like it could be a ton of fun.

Bethesda went on to say that there are plans for even more content, totaling more than 60$ worth, and as a result the Season Pass price will be going up to 49.99 USD from the current 29.99 USD on March 1st. Those who already own the Season Pass or purchase before March 1st price increase will still get access to all of the upcoming DLC.

Each of the DLC packs are getting a closed beta for consoles and PC, so players interested in testing them out can do so by creating an account at Bethesda and signing uphere. Players accepted into the beta will receive a code to redeem the content. The beta is the full version and those players participating will not have to purchase the DLC.

We’ve been waiting a bit to hear what the DLC plans for Fallout 4 were and now we finally have them. What are your thoughts on the new content? Will this be enough to draw you back into the Commonwealth? Sound off in the comments!

Editor at Fextralife. I look for the substantial in gaming and I try to connect video games to the emotions and stories they elicit. I love all things culture and history and have an odd fondness for the planet Jupiter. I think my dogs are pretty awesome too.

Automatron comes out on Tuesday FYI. Should be a fun side little jaunt of robot building.

I’m just going to wait for the ultimate edition. I have so many games already, and haven;t even beaten Fallout 3 or New Vegas, so even if it takes year or more, I can wait.

FYI Peeps, today is the last day to get the Season Pass at 30$, it’s going to go up to 50 tomorrow. So make today the day if you’re planning on getting a bunch of the DLC.

I’m quite excited for the automatron add-on (or DLC, whatever rubs you right) because the concept of building robots is a pleasing one to me. I just hope there is a good range of custonizations.

Bethesda’s Fallout and current iterations of the Elder Scrolls series (Oblivion and Skyrim) have their replayability through modifications in my opinion. The story has been sort of lackluster, especially in the case of Fallout.

i dont know why but i cant help myself with the lost of interest on the new fallout after seeing all (one) 4 endings…too much is missing for me to replay the game in any way…specially invest more Money….

So now with those first two DLC you can just pay for more junk you’re not going to use!

And with the reception of the vanilla game I’m just reallllly doubting they could make a DLC worthy of that price tag at this point.

This whole thing just smells like a cash grab honestly. Call me bitter or what have you.

Lightning Chain Gun? Now we’re talking. Unless it weighs more than 15.

I would wager a hefty sum that this is the case. 3 dlc already on the way out with more incoming plus mods. A staggering amount.

Damn, I think I’m going to buy the season pass after all…

Looks interesting. Adding in more stuff to do other than combat and crafting seems a wise choice on their part.

Looks like I’m buying the season pass this month then! Those DLCs look cool! Although I have to say, I’m not so much a fan of the settlements so far, so that add-on doesn’t excite me much other than setting Deathclaws on a settler hunt. But Robobrain and the Far Harbor…hype!

I’m still gonna wait for the ultimate edition(or what ever they’re going to call it), with all of the DLC. Not so much because I’m cheap (but I am when it comes to getting better deals), but because I still haven’t finished Fallout 3 OR New Vegas. I still haven’t beat all of Fallout 3’s DLC, and I haven’t even touched New Vegas yet, and I got both games mid last year. Schooling and some other great RPGs (Witcher 3 and Bloodborne to be precise) have taken up a lot of my time.

Actually that’s not true. I Mean it was true for Skyrim. But for Fallout 3, there was 4 DLC’s that was pretty much equal of size, with New Vegas they had the same amount, as well as two small add ons.

If you really want the DLC, I’d get the season pass by the end of the month. Granted the dlc might be worth 60$, but why pay that price when you can pay 30 and be done?

They usually have had 2 larger DLC, and a smaller one.

Do you think they wound up making more than they initially planned? Maybe that’s the reason for the price increase. At the least they’re giving people 2 weeks to get it at the old price.

That’s a bit shitty of them to up the price on the season pass from March 1st though tbh. Apart from that the DlC’s looks interesting at least.

Ha we were literally minutes apart. Merging to avoid redundancy.
